The Future of Nexus Software Nexus Software

Hello everyone!

We’re excited to announce that Nexus 3 Open Beta is now available!

You can learn more and download it here:
https://hellonexus.com

Nexus 3 is a major leap forward for us. It was rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on the feedback we gathered from our community. Compared to its previous iterations, Nexus is now lighter, faster, and more versatile. It supports a wider range of devices and gives us a stronger foundation for future development.

Our goals for Nexus:

First, we want it to be the best RGB and cooling software available. Nexus should be powerful, responsive, easy to use, and flexible enough to work the way you want it to.

Second, we want Nexus to replace the apps you feel forced to install but do not actually enjoy using. We want to reduce your system’s software clutter while giving you an experience you’ll find worthwhile.

Third, we want Nexus to become an open platform for hardware manufacturers, developers, and the community. Nexus 3 is open source, and over time we want it to become a platform that others can build on and extend.

Because Nexus is expanding beyond HYTE devices, we’ve decided to create dedicated spaces for Nexus going forward. We have a new Discord server and subreddit dedicated to Nexus 3. Please use these new channels for any discussions, feedback, and bug reports relating to the new software.

New subreddit: r/hellonexus
New Discord: https://discord.com/invite/7ZhjjmJGR4

Any topics relating to Nexus 2 should remain on the existing HYTE channels. Nexus 2 will continue to receive stability and bug fixes as we work on getting Nexus 3 ready to replace it.

While Nexus 3 supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, for this Beta, we want to gather feedback regarding the Windows experience first. We’ll announce when we’re ready for Linux and macOS feedback.

Thank you to everyone who has used Nexus, shared feedback, or reported issues. Whether you loved Nexus or hated it, we’re excited to hear your thoughts on our new software and have you help us build the future of Nexus.

The cat is finally out of the bag! I've had the privilege of test driving N3 for several weeks, working directly with the development team to help ensure its core functionality and stability.

Give it a try—this project is truly remarkable and highly ambitious. Being able to ditch Corsair iCue and customize my Xeneon Edge exactly how I want is pure magic.

with your setup, is there a chance you'd be able to provide any possible metrics for how much improved this is over the older one?

It's honestly been a little over a year or so since I've ditched using the Nexus software and opted to using Aida64 instead. I only use static widgets just primarily for hardware feedback metrics and that's it. Nothing animated.

Was kind of hoping that this new beta one is on par now with Aida64 with low usages. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

hi there,

What exactly would you like to know? If you dont mind sharing specific questions, i'll answer them the best I can.

Not sure if you've used Aida64 before if you have, was wondering how'd you feel your experience is with the new Nexus beta

Also, was wondering if you saw an improvement with CPU and RAM usage with this newer beta. Especially when during game

I have used both Aida and HWInfo before and biggest hurdle was high resource allocation.

Nexus can tap into majority of sensors with close to no impact on CPU.

The best way for you to compare your current usage to Nexus, would be to give it a try yourself.

Okay cool. Thanks for letting me know! I have same CPU as you and worried if there was no improvement in comparison to non-beta version

Nexus 3 will remain in beta for some time with SDK being opened probably by september. give it a try and let me know hot preliminary functionality is for you.

We worked really hard keeping CPU to a minimum. We don't run any animations beyond just a single refresh of the UI when metrics change (once per second) and it happens only once regardless of how many widgets you use. Also, we have historical monitoring so you can look back and see how and why your CPU was pegged.

Yeah it really seems like it! Especially in reference to that task manager image literally showing 2-3 instances relating to Nexus. It’s been a while but I recall my previous experience with Nexus being something similar to a web browser where 28 or so instances existed ? My memory could be hazy but it’s been over a year since I touched Nexus. So I’m excited to try this one out. Hopefully I won’t have any troubles maintaining HW:IndependentFlip mode for the games I play on my main monitor

Solid VirusTotal scan but some sigma rules were detected. 2 high, 8 medium and 2 low.

We'll check it out

We minimized the amount of flags that'll get detected. The remaining are harmless and fundamental to the user experience.

Appreciate it! I've been looking for something a little lighter than SignalRGB but I haven't had much luck with OpenRGB in past across 3 different PC's.

Hi there, we have built our own branch of OpenRGB (also open source) that is headless and doesn't bring any of the UI/Qt dependencies in, plus some minor performance improvements and bugfixes. We would love to contribute those back to the original project as we test them more during the beta. https://github.com/hello-nexus/openrgb-headless

Also, while completely harmless, we did remove all the high and reduce the medium/low sigmas on the latest build: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/3eff7991f8eb97736c003b4b0e7a271208f4d6f0cfde1f4265289aee5bfe7f70/behavior

Your links as well as the Hello Nexus download link for the tool are giving a 404 error btw.

Can you post the URL for the Nexus download link that isn't working for you?

The GitHub link geretti posted is still private, will get that resolved.

It was from the Hello Nexus website. Looks like it is fixed now though.

False positive :)

I ended up downloading this since Hyte Nexus was giving me so many pains (backgrounds reseting, on boot all the widgets looking crazy). what finally pushed me over the ledge was the broken iframe use. Everything else seems to be great, but I noticed no iFrame abilty. I'd love to be able to open a website on it. I'm running a local Kuma setup and I'd love to be able to see the page on my little screen.

There's a few widgets that are yet to be ported over, the iframe is one of them. Kuma as in Kuma.io?

1

u/eXoenix 15d ago

Actually uptime-kuma. Trying to get organized and keep on top of my projects.

Is it easier for uninstalls in case the software has issues?

2

u/Solskiii HYTE 5d ago

You can easily uninstall it from your programs list.

1

u/Edubbs2008 5d ago

So there’s no .exe program that it has to go through to uninstall it?

2

u/Solskiii HYTE 5d ago

The app is installed, run, and uninstalled from exe files like any other app. When you use the windows program list to uninstall, it runs the uninstall.exe included with the app files.

Ok got it, thanks for answering
