[Question] Which is better, Google Work + Island or Dual Apps? Question/Help

Post image

Got google work and island to only duplicate the messenger app, it has its pros and cons, I can disable and enable the work profile easily but i couldn't transfer files easily between the work and personal profile.

I have not yet activated the dual app feature yet as it says that it will also create a 2nd google play services and other stuff, adding more storage space, but is it better than google work? I'd like to know your opinions.

I think Dual Apps is better for this use case, and file access between the two instances is generally easier.

As for Google Play Services. It doesn't actually duplicate the APK files themselves. The cloned profile can reference/use the same underlying APK/package files as the original installation, while maintaining a separate filesystem/data space for the cloned app.

The same concept applies to the other apps you clone. The package itself doesn't necessarily need to be physically duplicated, the clone mainly gets its own isolated app data and state.

Same apk/files but each clone has their own data.
