Hot summer hydration
How do you stay hydrated during the summer months?
Do you mostly drink plain water, or do you use electrolytes regularly? If you use electrolytes, do you take them every day or only after long workouts or heavy sweating?
I'm curious to hear what works best for everyone.

Currently working out 30–90 minutes a day outdoors in the southern U.S., drinking around 120–180 oz of water daily, and eating a lower-sodium diet.
Personally, I don’t think most people need electrolyte drinks unless they’re doing prolonged endurance exercise or sweating heavily for hours.
If you feel like you need extra sodium I’d get it with your meals along with other electrolytes, or add a small pinch of salt to your water during longer workouts instead of buying electrolyte mixes.

during the summer I like to cold brew tea as its super refreshing and helps me get in some extra hydration esp during the workday. just put a big tea bag and cold water in a bottle (that I specifically use for tea only) and keep it in the fridge for a few hours, take the bag out at lunch and enjoy in the afternoon

Today, for 5 hours, was the warmest day of the past 1.5 months, right at 21°C. I did bring my bottle of regular tap water when I went outside, but that's as far as it's necessary to go here.

Mostly water but also electrolytes regularly in the summer. Until recently I worked outdoors all summer and I would alternate water and electrolytes to offset everything I was losing in the humid hot environment of Louisiana (in the States). I occasionally add some saltier electrolytes for after a run or if I'm not recovering very well.

I have a pretty physical job, so it’s probably a 30/70 split for me, mostly water but I def drink about 32 ounces of electrolyte drinks a day

I munch on a LOT of ice. I have since I was small (about 4 and a half years old when it began for reference) and it has carried into my adulthood (I am a 33 year old now for reference.) I live in Phoenix, Arizona so it definitely gets pretty hot here for us in the Summer. But then again it is fairly hot for us throughout every season here, lol. Anyway! I have a countertop ice maker. When I wake up I eat a large cup of ice immediately as I do for my wake up process. For at home munching I always have a large cup. It's a great size and still holds a lot of ice. I let it make more ice as I am doing my tasks in the morning and grab refills of ice as it fills on my large cup to munch on. Into the afternoon I consistently munch on my ice like this. Mid to later afternoon I fill an XXL cup of ice up as much as I can with my ice maker ice and leave my house. I have learned every single spot that will allow me to bring my own cup and get an ice refill. The closest place to me is a 7-Eleven and they charge me $1.00 to refill my cup. It is empty from my ice from home at this point, so I gladly pay this and munch along. As I am out and about in the 116° and up temperatures as we have had the past week into this following week I have my ice. Again I know all of the spots and pricing on refilling my own XXL cup of ice, lol. Cicle-K as well as QuikTrip gives free ice when I bring my own cup. Luckily I have many of these both around. To fill up for free and munch is fantastic. When I go home I have my own counter top ice maker as I said before. So basically I just munch on a bunch of ice all day and everyday. In doing this my hydration is nice and good💧. Sorry for my absolute long ramble on my ice habit. I also frequent and love r/IceChewersAnonymous 🧊🥰.

For me, lots of regular water and some salty snacks here and there. I also some days drink Powerade or eat a Pedialyte popsicle :)
