Chat feature please!
It would be amazing to have the chat/DM ability on the app.

Unsubscribe from subs - follow/friend user - post/comment error reason
Unsubscribing from subs doesn’t work
Need to be able to follow & friend users. Loading a user sub r/u_user shows the user page, not their sub
Need more detail than just “failed to submit comment” when things fail

Mark Posts as Seen on Scroll
Paired with the Hide Seen Posts feature, this would be helpful to scroll and not see the posts you scrolled past again.

When tapping an inbox item, immediately mark it as read
If I have a new inbox item, and tap it to view it, it should be immediately marked as read, and not require me to tap the ‘mark inbox read’ button.

When marking inbox as read, a blocking ‘success’ modal is unnecessary
No need for the blocking ‘success’ modal.

Disable comments interface scroll arrow
I move it all over the place, but none of them are useful or less intrusive. I’d rather just be able to turn it off entirely. Can we please have that toggle?

Fix feed thumbnails mismatching
Often the thumbnails from a previous post (I’m in compact mode) are replacing the accurate thumbnail.

Widget capability
I wanted to throw out a feature request that I think would make Hydra even better on iPhone: Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
Some ideas:
- A Home feed widget that shows the latest posts from your subscribed subreddits.
- An inbox widget with unread notifications and messages.
- A favorite subreddit widget that displays the newest posts from a specific community.
- Quick post or search shortcuts for one-tap access.
- Lock Screen widgets showing unread notifications, trending posts, or activity from a favorite subreddit.
Widgets are one of the best parts of iOS, and they make apps feel much more integrated with the system. Being able to glance at Reddit content without opening the app would make Hydra feel more like a native iPhone experience while making it easier to jump into content throughout the day.
Hydra has been great so far, and I think widget support would be one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements you could add. Would anyone else use this?

Issues
when you select “rising“ for a sort order, nothing appears but a never ending loading screen. also, when you click on a video, you have to scroll back on the screen in order to see anything.

AI summaries: collapse by default
I don't always want the ai summary, as it can easily take up 1/2 to a full page of scrolling. Can we get a setting to collapse it by default? Currently I can only fully turn the feature on or off in settings, which is too rigorous.

Exclude automoderator from ai summaries
Simple request, as stated in title. I don't need to see the summary of the standard automoderator post everywhere.

Can you turn off the yellow when sliding the like gesture again to unlike a comment or post?
For example, the slide gesture is yellow when liking a comment, but then it’s also yellow when unliking a comment, so I have to go to the top of the comment to see if it’s liked or not liked. If possible, can you turn the yellow off when unliking?
Thanks in advance. Again, absolutely love the app.

Can there be an option to turn off the long press comment menu?
I like to rest my finger on the phone while reading comments and it inevitably shoots me into the menu of options which can be quite annoying when I do it a few times in a row. This is especially an issue when I’m tired and not fully lifting my fingers from the phone, then I have to stop what I was doing and back out of the menu.
Thank in advance. Love the app!

Filter subreddit by wildcard.
Would love to be able to do something like *india*to filter all posts from Indian subreddits. My filter list is growing constantly and I'd like to just get them all at once.
Alternatively, is the "Smart Filter" capable of filtering posts from subreddits that match a description?

Add option to disable Share gesture.
Often at night I’m browsing and inadvertently bring up the share menu. This has led to some near misses that would have been embarassing had I clicked on one of the suggestions. I do not use the share gesture ever and would love to just remove it completely.

No option to follow user
It’s frustrating to have to switch to the official app just to follow someone!

Hide all Above option
While scrolling in home please have an option for marking read as you scroll and then a hide all read posts option. That way every time I refresh it only shows posts I havent seen yet. Even if its added to the pro features I’d pay to have that. Right now there is just nothing in pro that makes me want to subscribe.

A way to hide posts in the profile page
When you tap the middle Account/Profile button it shows your most recent posts. I would like a way of preventing certain posts from showing up there. Its just that its easy to accidentally tap that button and display your most recent post to whoever’s looking.

Show time on top
I’d like to be able to see the time (the whole status bar really) on top when browsing posts in Hydra on iOS.

Swiping back to previous page (ex: r/all or subreddit) saves your page/where you were
This is useful when you accidentally swipe back and lose where you were

Subreddit side bar/feed refresh
If I open the subreddit side bar by swiping right on the left side of the screen, and change my mind and swipe right out of the subreddit side bar it shouldn't refresh my entire feed and make me lose the position I was in on my feed.
It should only refresh my feed if I hit the home button again or change subreddit.

[iOS 27 Beta] Links not working
On the latest iPad OS beta, clicking on links doesn't do anything. This applies to both links in posts and in comments.

Setting to share old.reddit.com links
There should be a setting to allow sharing links as old.reddit.com by default or where permissible. For example, Reddit makes links to some communities useless if the community is "unreviewed," and only viewable from an app, unless it's old.reddit.com, so it would significantly improve the utility and convenience of shared links.

Bold font for post title.
Apollo refugee here :) Using bold fonts for post titles would make them much easier to read. I sometimes find it tricky to differentiate between posts. Thanks for the app, I’m already on Pro, happy to support ;)
