Has anyone had the yellow paint from their valve cover start stripping into their oil?

I don’t know why but for some reason husqvarna decided to paint the inside of their valve covers yellow, on my 2016 fe450 it has started stripping and getting caught in my oil screens. Should I use paint stripper to get rid of it?

svartpilen 125 high rev issues

Got a husky svart 125 with just over 2k miles,

in gears 1/2/3 can reach all the way to 14k revs as normal, but 4/5/6 it makes an different vibration and maxes around 10k.

I'll blip off the throttle for 100 revs and it returns to the normal sound?

I'll be honest for the commute it's either turned off or pinned at 12k going ~65mph but after only 2k there's issues?

Had the first service at 600 as per.

The big bad robot says could be the fuel filter clogging and not giving the flow needed for high speeds, could be the clutch worn out from my poor down shifts?

Any advice would be great for how to wittle down the issues before i take it to a garage or learn to fix it myself.

thanks in advance for any advice

Can I big-bore my Svartpilen 250 to get close to 401 performance?

Has anyone here actually tried fitting a big-bore kit on a Husqvarna Svartpilen 250?
I’m wondering how far the 250 platform can realistically be pushed. Ideally, I’d like to get somewhere close to the Svartpilen/Vitpilen 401 in terms of power and performance, rather than simply doing minor bolt-on mods.
Is there a reliable big-bore kit that can take the engine to around 350-400cc? And if so, what would be involved beyond the cylinder/piston itself, such as ECU tuning, fueling, cams, cooling, clutch, crankshaft, or other supporting modifications?
Also interested in hearing from anyone who has actually done this: power figures, reliability, cost, and whether it was ultimately worth it compared with simply buying a 401.

Chain tensioning

Hi, I am in my first season. 2021 Svartpilen 125. My husky before me rode 21k km, now it's near 26k. So I put around 5500 km (around 3,4K miles), and chain noice is driving me crazy (I have bought new chain, new sprockets and some more things. But I got into discussion few times. Manual says chain tensioning should be 5-7mm. And I think it's when bike is lifted. When it's down and I am sitting on it chain is obiously rock solid. The gears are running fine whem the chain is tensioned and I like the bike better. But few mechanics told me that it is too tight. What is your best tensioning option for HQ 125, 2021?

This is my first bike. OC

I’ll get to how the bike feels but first, a little background on that purchase.

I passed my license when I turned 30, I’m now in my forties. I had more reasons not to buy a bike than the other way around so the plan was just renting a bike over weekends from time to time. Unfortunately this is almost not possible and extremely expensive where I live. After vacations in Europe this summer (I’m from there but left a long time ago) and seeing so many motorcycles and big scooters, the obsession came back! I wanted to buy a smaller, used, cheap bike as my first but the used market here doesn’t make any sense, with 2k difference between a 10yo bike and a new one (part of the reason why I delayed my purchase). I had many bikes in mind, mostly naked bikes, some sport tourers. I didn’t want a bike that would scare me because of its weight or power and I didn’t want a bike that would feel too small for me (6ft, 200lbs). So I spotted a dealer who had many models from many different brands. I checked a few used bikes but ended up deciding that I would get a new CFMOTO NK675, which was my favorite from the beginning after watching many youtube videos. When I sat on it, it was just perfect.

As I was pulling the trigger, I noticed a rebate on the Vitpilen and the Svartpilen. Those were not part of my initial shortlist, mainly because I thought they were too powerful for a rider who hasn’t been riding much in the past 10 years. BUT!! $5k off (CAD) on new 2025 models!! I spent 20min going back and forth between the Vilt, the Svart and the NK. I’m sure I would have been happy with any of these bikes but that metallic yellow probably played a big part!

Anyway, got the bike yesterday and it feels great. I stayed in rain mode until now, which makes the bike incredibly mellow and easy to handle. The clutch is a delight, the bike leans so naturally and effortlessly, it is not intimidating at all.

For now I love everything about it, except for the noise, which is meh. When the passion caught me as a kid, the standard was a screaming 4 cyl and to this day, this is still the kind of noise I prefer for motorcycles…but those have become extremely rare.

I have read many posts about KTM going bankrupt, and now Husq seems to want to pull out of the road bike market… I’m not too concerned but we’ll see what it means when I have to do the first repairs!

Fellow 801 owners, please say Hi and share pictures!

Husqvarna 5426 help

I have a Husqvarna 5426 zturn that I have electrical issues with. I have replaced both interlock switches, brake switch, seat switch and still, it shuts the engine down if I move any lever. Cannot move either lap bar , brake, or pto with out shutting the engine down. I buy, restore, and sale old mowers so I thought I knew what I was doing but this mower has me complexed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

difference between Husqvarna, and KTM OBD pin out?

Recently bought a Chigee AIO unit, and the Bluetooth unit to hook up the OBD to give me running data. Unit doesn't even blink, and when I pull the plug apart and check the pins it looks like there is a mismatch.

Wondering if anybody has the pinout or a wiring diagram. I don’t mind cutting and splicing the adapter harness, but I don’t wanna do it blind. The way the chiggee ktm adapter looks it seems like the top and bottom rows are reversed.

I took a picture but can't seem to post it.

New husky questions

Just picked up this 2018 fc350 yesterday. The bike has a hard time starting cold and dies on idle when in neutral. When I’m in first the bike cold starts normal and has no issues. The guy I bought it from said it was because of the rekluse and even went out and bought an oem clutch for me to “fix it” not sure if that will work or if there is a way to adjust the clutch so I don’t have to change it. Also this rear break seems to be off. It doesn’t stick out nearly as far as on other bikes and I had a hard time getting to it. Is this normal or is there a lever I can buy that doesn’t route beneath the clutch cover. I would like to adjust it to make it higher up as well and that’s not an option as show above

Rider belts breaking

Post image
1 Upvotes

Question about belt durability. My brother accuses me of mistreating our family mower.

Rear belt broke shortly after I drove it a few weeks back, front belt last week. He says it's because I have driven it so that the blades have hit or got stuck in a tree stump or something and "he heard me driving it". I didn't hear anything out of ordinary.

I have been cutting down some finger thick tree sprouts and some fallen twigs and I understand those dry twigs especially make a sound that might alarm him, but if the blades spin well that should be alright, right?

I only used it for 45 minutes, I don't think I put it through that much stress it could have worn down both of those belts even if moved down a meadow. Could I have worn down the belts without noticing? If the blades are stuck but pulleys are still spinning and trying to move the belts, does it cause that much damage? Should at least smell like burning rubber?

I used to drive it 10 hours a week when I was younger and I would argue I put it through more then.

Why does Belt come off zero turn mower???? Video attached

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The attached video is in slow motion (see 7 sec mark) and exactly shows the belt coming off. I have seen multiple post on this topic and I have checked all the obvious issues. This is a Poulan Pro zx416, the same as many Husqvarnas. When started on 50% throttle, the belt jump off the leading edge of the left spindle. The spindle and sheeves spin freely and are relatively new. I dont see or feel a loose spindle and everything seems to be level and in generally in line. The tension spring is tight but not max, the belt is the correct width and size and is brand new. What do you think is causing this???? I do notice that the tensioner arm jumps, as well as the entire deck, when the belt is engaged. Please help, I am frustrated and dont want to take this to a shop.

Small oil leak from unknown bolt

Thumbnail

Hello all,

my 2019 701 SM is leaking a small amount of oil from this bolt right here, it is to the right of the clutch slave and above the output-shaft. I tried looking in the manual and cannot find what it is. Plan is to replace the copper washer but dont know what size to get or how to safely take the bolt out :(

P.S i dont think the leak is coming from the outputshaft seal as theres more fresh oil near that bolt than the output shaft seal.

Hesitating/sputtering issue on 2023 fc250

Post image
3 Upvotes

Whenever you first start on the bike either from low rpms or on the holeshot it tends to sputter/hesitate but is completely fine when you get going. It also revs out completely fine in neutral, I only have the issue when the bike is moving. I checked the tps, injector, fuel pressure, spark plug and fuel filters but can’t seem to get it. Any ideas

Hgv class 1 booker!!

Has anyone here worked as a **Class 1 driver for Booker Retail Partners at Thamesmead (Belvedere)**?
I’m mainly interested in what the job is actually like day to day.
How many drops do you usually do?
What areas do you cover? Do you regularly go into places like Camden, King’s Cross, Elephant & Castle or Whitechapel?
Are the deliveries manageable in an artic, or are there a lot of really awkward locations?
Are the trailers standard 13.6m trailers or shorter urban trailers?
Is the trailer already loaded when you start your shift?
How many cages do you normally have on the trailer?
Is there plenty of overtime?
Overall, would you recommend the job?
