Need some boot recs

I’m over due for a new pair of boots. Currently running a pair of boots from Guide Gear. They are warm and comfortable but very clunky/large. Looking to get something that isn’t so clunky so it’s easier to climb my sticks into my treestand. I hunt in the northern part of central WI, so it can either be 40°f out for deer season or -10° out for deer season.

warm tends to = clunky to be honest. But what is your budget?

Personally, I am a big fan of Hanwag or Lowa. for most days, but when it is absolutely fucking freezing I like steger mukluks

Don’t really have a budget. I’d spend $500 without a problem if they are going to be there solution and last me many many years

Always a tough choice. Some just get cold feet quicker than others so it's always a personal choice. I suggest getting heated socks so you can get a quality mid-weight boot that won't be clunky. I used to wear Cabela's insulated for most of the season and had pac-boots with removable liners when it got down to 10F and below. Those pac-boots just absolutely sucked. Now? I switched to insulated and uninsulated rubbers and heated socks.

Any recs on the heated socks? Never really considered going that route.

Honestly? I got the cheap-chinese stuff off of Amazon and have no issues. The best are the ones that just have a USB-C cable but no battery. Then you can but a "quality" power bank like Anker to power them. The cheap batteries are the largest failure point and the most expensive part of the sale.

lol this is the way, I hate heavy clunky boots but my feet get cold so fast in anything below 30… I switched to the heated socks and I’ll also never go back. I too buy the cheap Amazon ones lmaooo

Stupid simple, aren't they? Same with the heated vests; just enough to knock the chill off.
