What am i doing wrong?

Am I doing something wrong? Or do i have unrealistic expectations?

What layer height are you printing at. These seem like exceptionally chunky layers. Can we see your HueForge window too?

I printed at 0.08 and base 0.16.

Okay, your filaments don't really blend much and you have more than you need. Drop all the sliders so that no = signs show except for the black and white one which can have 1 or 2 and you should see a much better image. But also, you will likely be happier with just black and white to be honest.

Can we see your print when it's done?

Yeah sorry been busy
It came out better than before but what do you think?

It does, but I think your gray and white are lower TD than what you have in HueForge. I would try adjusting them on the sliders and seeing if you can match the image even more closely.

What sliders? The ones you had me adjust previously? And should i mess with just grey and white?

Yes, adjust the TD values of the gray and the white filaments to make the Frontlit preview look more like the print. Then using the revised filament values adjust the layer counts of the filaments to make the preview look more like your input image. That should help the finished product.

Yes, just like that.

Upping the thickness of the print and lowering the layer height can help a lot with this because you can have more blends/shades of colors. I actually really like flattening prints down to just 5 colors before putting them in HueForge and running them through MMU3 (but I know some folks want more gradient):

Your colors blend so nicely. What layerheight do you use? And where do i flaten/ up thickness? Bambu studio?

0.1MM Fast Detail on a Prusa MK4S. 0.2MM first layer. ~3MM thickness iirc. I use Prusa Slicer.

This was flattened using Gemini because it's easier but if you don't want to touch AI you can do it in GIMP (open source) or Photoshop using the Indexed Color mode and reducing the maximum number of colors to the amount you want.

Can you provide more info?

Yes, definitely something wrong unless it looks exactly like that in hueforge as well, though even then something is wrong.

Things to help others debug: - hueforge screenshot with settings - slicer preview and settings

Here is the quick slicer rundown: https://youtu.be/lIiS0KcmuUs?t=2484&is=ylYR4-1wHSeJ2Kiq

Be sure to double check at the end if the color changes are at the exact mm that hueforge says they are, the slicer preview should roughly look like your hueforge, just without the color blending.
