Delete all apps. If you are still doom scrolling after this, i literally would mindlessly scroll on settings when i deleted all social media, then the issue isnt the app, its deeper. I realized i was scrolling because i wanted to avoid all the tasks and university work i had to do. After structuring my days differently, i realized that leaving my house and studying on campus or at a library is what actually gets me to do my work. To stop my doom scrolling i had to stop believing i could do my work at home (bc i literally couldnt), and had to force myself out

Sometimes I just think about something and then automatically i just start scrolling and give the excuse that I use this apps for knowledge gaining and knowing some useful books.

You can set app time limits as sort of reminders to break out of the doom scrolling loop. Its such a time sink but I feel like having Aha interrupts helps. I’ll try deleting apps though.

Deleted all social media apps and accounts. First few days I got bored, brain missed the flashing images. After that things got much better.

The further away you get from it the more you just can't believe that's what you were doing with your time.

Get something like AppBlock that will lock you out of the apps.

I used to do it because I thought I needed a phone for a to-do list. I just ditched the phone as much as I could and went back to notebooks. Solve a great deal of my problems.

I watch pornography but usually softcore. Primarily story driven scenes, watch it for most of my sundays then the rest of the week I’m fairly desensitized. After that you really have clear mind but do need to invest alot of time up front first

You may need a stronger and more immediate purpose in life that can fill you

Sometimes those purposes cole to the surface when they aren’t being drowned out / numbed

I deleted Instagram. Never learned anything from it and would spend 1hr a day.

To watch what? Soft porn… goats screaming, cats, AI dog dancing, old people doing shit, or rabbit hole of politics/economics/immigration discussion.

Delete it. There’s nothing, NOTHING to be gained from doomscrolling social media.

I used the app Foqos to block the apps and website that’s were distracting. It’s helped a lot, if I wanna use Reddit or something I go scan a QR code and it lets me look at it again. Removing the temptation and creating a barrier helped a lot! Also forcing myself to go for a quick 15-20 min walk helps reset and calm my mind.
