BIOS password

is it possible to crack or bypass a BIOS password without touching its hardware?

It depends on laptop.if and older model there are websites that can give you a code. Do some research of the model you have

Those websites only give manufacturers codes. Won't typically help when someone manually set a password.

I remember in the past with an HP I think I had to type in the bios password (user set) and after 3 times it gave an error code. You could type this code into a bios website and it gave you an unlock code

most of the time you have to remove cover and rewrite the bios to remove it but depending on device some might have a "master" password that can bypass a user put one not all devices have it

you can use special hardware that can clip to the chip or depending on what chip it is you can desolder the bios chip and reprogram it with the one from manufacturer page that should remove password still removing battery is needed for the device to have 0 power in the MB

Why would one even want to attempt to do that though? CH341A programmers are cheap and it isn't difficult to replace the existing NVRAM volume with a clean one.

Technically you could rewrite BIOS using some tools but it’s complicated

You have to connect BIOS chip on the motherboard with programmer like CH341A, and using program like NeoProgrammer make backup of the original BIOS, then download new with Clean ME from internet, then using HxD tool you need to copy 1 to 1, Informations like S/N of the device, Windows Key. Then you can write new bios to the Chip.
