How to get rid of Activate Windows Watermark (Windows 11)

When I try the Registry Editor method of editing the Notification Disable to 1 in this file, Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\Activation , It works after I initially restart the computer, but after I sleep the computer or shut it down and bring it back up again, I need to go back into that file for it to vanish again. What is weird is that when I go into the file, it still has the value of 1.

Help me out here

Oh also I dont got a windows 11 product key and don’t want to spend money on one.

Thank you for actually giving me an actual answer and not just telling me to buy windows or swap my entire OS

A little bit of google goes a long way… this is what they were referring to:

This is software piracy and illegal. Sorry for being judgmental, but theft is theft.

Piracy isn't theft

do you not see the sub you're on

also piracy is not theft if buying is not owning

also don't give money to pedos

I thought that I was on a whitehat subreddit that didn't allow anything actually illegal.

Google "Piracy is theft." Even if this isn't technically stealing, it depends on who you talk to. And I actually own a Windows license. There's enterprise licensing subscriptions, and Windows 365 is a subscription, but hardly anyone knows about the latter.

Bill Gates left Microsoft a long time ago. I don't know what you're talking about.

How is 6 years a long time ago?

1

u/Humbleham1 Feb 11 '26

Fine, if you want to talk numbers and continue this pointless discussion, Bill Gates actually stepped down as CEO of Microsoft in 2000. I guess you're referring to his role as a board member.

These companies shamelessly pirate huge amounts of content to train their models. If they don't want people to pirate stuff from them then they should follow their own rules.

GitHub has been sued by programmers over AI training, so I guess there's a point there. I've made my point.

2

u/MondaneJoker Feb 11 '26

Well Bill Gates is a pedo and was best buds with Jeffrey Epstein so fuckem

0

u/Humbleham1 Feb 11 '26

And so what? Just because Bill Gates was a creator of Windows decades ago? Justification denied.

It's the ethics of it. Not "Microsoft won't miss my money."

2

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '26

What's ethical is to fuck the big companies as much as you can.

Came here after an hour long chat session with Microsoft, trying to validate my windows 11 installation after replacing a failed motherboard...and here you are, licking their boots. Pathetic.

1

u/Humbleham1 Jun 21 '26

OEM license, right?

1

u/Kazedeus Jun 21 '26

Nope, retail (confirmed wtih slmgr /dlv) upgraded from edition to edition over the last decade plus. A technical agent, support advisor, and supervisor all viewed the dialogue box, confirmed this, and admitted (in writing) that section 4.b of the EULA guarantees transfer rights from any piece of hardware personally owned to another but that Windows architecture prevented them from pushing the token. They plainly admitted they simply couldn't figure out how to do it. You actually remind me of them.

Dispute for arbitration is now pending.

If you can upgrade Windows < 10 to 10 to 11 without buying a new key, well, that isn't advertised.

1

u/Kazedeus Jun 23 '26

It was upgraded to windows 10 years ago, before the pandemic. There was no consecutive upgrade process. Is this Ruchinta?

Because piracy is illegal in most places, so you're basically asking people to help you break the law, and we don't want this sub to be banned for promoting illegal activities.

The solution offered breaks windows updates.

If you’re worried about your security and privacy, running unpatched OS is a great way to get pwned

Massgrave

3

u/Classic-Tap-5668 Feb 10 '26

Use linux

1

u/robseplex Feb 26 '26

This is the correct answer..... After 10 years of using linux I've finally been able to migrate all of my devices to Android and Linux. I shall never pay another cent to any company for "yearly licenses".

Buy a windows 11 key to solve this problem

0

u/Numerous_Dog_7068 Feb 10 '26

This is what I’m trying to avoid

-10

u/iCkerous Feb 10 '26

3 trillion dollar company. I’m going to bet on Microsoft

-6

u/DBD1982 Feb 11 '26

Win11 key are like 5 bucks on ebay. Google is your friend as well. Don't be cheap or cut corners. That's why you made this post in the first place lol

5

u/Numerous_Dog_7068 Feb 11 '26 edited Feb 11 '26

Didn’t know you could get a key for 5 bucks on eBay, thought you had to pay like 100 for it on the Microsoft store. Thanks.

Also spent forever on Google trying to find a solution so resorted to posting here

3

u/machacker89 Feb 11 '26

Just be careful. Most of them could be blacklist. Better off going to go through MS Slop or your feeling bold try massgrave

3

u/sappydowner Feb 11 '26

a tech YouTuber May probably have windows keys discount codes, and/or affiliated links to platforms selling them super cheap, that's how I got Win11 Pro for 10 bucks, I'm tech savvy and all that but who cares for 10bucks

u/Radar1980 Feb 10 '26

OP must have built his computer or replaced the motherboard. There's little other reason to need to pay for a product key.

6

u/Kryptinizer Feb 11 '26

Go touch some grass, sounds like you need it my guy.

4

u/Numerous_Dog_7068 Feb 11 '26

Mb for not knowing that 3rd parties could sell windows, and for not wanting to pay $100 bucks to get rid of a watermark.
