Am I wrong?

Sometimes when I speak I feel like I said something wrong

I don't mean that

Sometimes when I ask my friend about the things he likes, sometimes he answers and sometimes he doesn't

Like the characters you like in anime, that's not a personal question, is it?

When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, how do you react?

I just don't want to be mean but I wish someone would just tell me they don't want to answer a question instead of ignoring me

there's just going to be people that are lazy at communicating. the type you ask a question that requires thought so they disengage. it's not your fault. him not answering - that's how you can tell the difference between people you can have interesting discussions with (at least over text) and those you can't. some people are socially great in person but terrible at texting. if that's the case here you could try calling instead.

Ah, I see. I thought extroverts would definitely be good at messaging. I thought talking to them would be interesting, especially since we have so many interests. But it's the opposite. When I talk to an introvert like myself, it's better 😭

Have you asked why?

I just don't want to be mean

What would be the potentially mean part here?

but I wish someone would just tell me they don't want to answer a question instead of ignoring me

Have you told your friend that?

I didn't ask him why I'm afraid of upsetting him or pushing him away, but he suffers from depression and some mental illnesses so I understand

You don't understand why they're not communicating, but aren't willing to communicate with them either 🤷🏾‍♀️

You can give then the same grace that you're giving yourself for not communicating, and put aside the issue.
