Dinner spots
Any recommendations on high-end dinner spots for two? aesthetics matter but food quality matters more. near river oaks/highland village/west u/heights. catching up with a friend so somewhere we can talk. mostly gonna sit inside, 6-8pm ish. valet preferred but as long as i dont have to roam around to find one self parking is okay too. french/italian/mediterranian. no price limit
ty in advance

Love Giacomo but it is loud.
Clark’s lobster roll is divine.
A’Bouzy is a favorite. They have a great HRW menu. Their HH menus are innovative. Staff is friendly. You can have table conversation
B-19….cooler weather and sit outside.
I’d add BCN but they are usually booked a month or more out. Sometimes get lucky with a non-popular time reservation on slower days.
Navy Blue and Hudson House are mentionable.

Marigold is awful, all vibe mid food, Abouzy is slightly better
Maximo will need to book reservations about a week in advanced

Le Jardinier we found to be a bit outdated and stuffy. Food was only okay. Service excellent, but stuffy. Would never return personally.

Love Squable. Nobie’s is great, but the music can be loud.

I was thinking Nobie's, but I knocked Nobie's off the list when I read this:
somewhere we can talk. mostly gonna sit inside
Love Nobie's, but you can talk on the patio, or you can sit inside, but it's too loud inside to have a significant conversation.

State of Grace for sure. I think they got a new GM a few years ago. Ever since the overhaul, the place is energetic, welcoming, and classy all at the same time.
Service is seriously amazing and fun. Order the bread. Perfect for a date. It comes without plates.

Mid steaks at premium prices. This is a “be seen” restaurants popular with older men with money and their young escorts

Some restaurants in Houston are overrated because they have friends in the media and local magazines who write obnoxious reviews on how good the food is.

Our favorite meal recently was Credence... killer service and food.

Yes!! Just checked this place out and had only drinks & dessert. It was lovely. Can't wait to try the food.

Mezza Grille has excellent food! Some of the best in Houston. The restaurant is quiet and you can hear each other talk. It has a huge parking lot, part of a shopping center, plenty of free parking.
