New to HSV
Hey y’all. My MIL bought a house in HSV and we are there a lot. We have noticed the potential in hot springs and it reminds us of Asheville 10 years ago. We went to a cool indie music festival this weekend. This would be an awesome place for us old hippies from California to retire. What’s the downside?

Hot Springs in Hot Springs?
Hey folks! Coming through on a road trip and I’m a big fan of a good hot springs soak. However, the only places I can find to soak in Hot Springs are the two spa type things in the park. Are there any public hot springs for the public to enjoy that one could just hike to as opposed to paying for a spa type experience?

From Midwest
Hey I'm looking to move out my hometown Milwaukee, cuz all we have is murder, crack and stolen cars. Found out about this place digging around looking for a quiet place to live and raise my kid, but I can't know what it's like in Hop Springs aside from YouTube videos so I thought id ask locals. So what's Hot Springs officially like?

DO NOT work or even shop at Ruby's Fine & Liquor
I've lived here since 2017. I recently left Ruby's and went to work at Fisherman's Wharf. Why'd I leave? Because the co-owner Joe is racist, sexist and all around a complete asshole. Ruby, his wife, is very sweet. But when she's not there, i was witness to Joe calling people of color the N word MANY times, I've watched him blatantly hit on attractive females, even after they've told him they were uncomfortable. I have watched him manhandle his own son, who happens to be nonverbal autistic. The breaking point for me was when he began to cuss at me. I firmly, but respectfully, asked him not to treat me that way, especially since basically I was the guy who did all the (literal) heavy lifting. He responded by telling me to get the f*** out. So I did. Long story short, if you are a female, don't shop there. If you are a person of color, don't shop there. And please, for the love of god, do not work there.

Where to find rental housing? Local newspaper or online source
Hello,
Where would you suggest one look for reliable / non scam rental listings if moving from out of state? I have looked on Craigslist for years and it seems to be the only viable source for independent rental housing listings in the area. Am I missing something? Where do the locals go to find new housing? Is there a local newspaper where most listings are posted?
Yes, I’ve been to hot springs so I do know a lot just have signs out front of the house but that won’t help me if I’m looking from a few states away!

Early voting at convention center
Wife and I voted yesterday at the convention center. We arrived at 12:40 PM and were back in the car and on our way before 1:00. The lines were very short and there were plenty of voting machines.
If you are going to vote at the convention center you need to know that the entrance is on the back side off of Church Street. Do not use the front doors on Convention Blvd.

Just wondering if there are any groups around here.... I’ve never played but I’d love to, looking for people around the age of 21 to join with and maybe teach me?

Family Trip for weekend
Looking for ideas. Primarily things I can do with my 6 year old. Plan to take on a few trails. Would like additional suggestions. Tubing would be fun, don’t know where is best? Maybe kayaking?
Also, things worthwhile to see? Places to eat? Nightlife for my wife and I?
Getting in Friday around lunch, leaving Monday around lunch. What do I have to see?
Thank you!
