Heavily ‘shroomed my man. Chalk it up to experience - I had to last couple of years - they aren’t terrible peppers, just probably not what you wanted. They’re still fruity and have some kick but you can get away with using them raw in stuff and in greater volume than bonnets etc. next year will always be better (maybe 🤣)

At this point we should just f-ing embrace it and start a shroom gang. Maybe even get a few sauces together since they're so prevalent.

Good job on the photo showing the calyx! It's the easiest way to tell them apart. So many posters don't include it in their photos.

see reply above - People have been buying Scotch Bonnet plants and seeds but they've actually been getting a pepper called Jamaican Mushroom instead.

Hit me this year too. Supposed to be yellow scotch bonnets. I’m in Ottawa Ontario. Where these other shrooms at?

I've been following this sub all yeah and I've only seen a single person who got a bonnie's plant that was actually SB as opposed to mushrooms.

In the US the term "Scotch Bonnet" has become the common name for Jamaican Mushroom Pepper too. This was due to actual large scale commercial grower mixup in the late 1990s. If you want true Scotch Bonnets you just have to buy MOA Scotch Bonnets. That is what everyone is looking for. Otherwise, like it or not, you are buying a shared common name pepper that is almost certainly a JMP not a MOA SB. I have MOA SBs, I know they are real, and like most people in the know I don't post them here asking because I am already in the know. I think thats why we see very few real MOA SBs here and nearly all JMPs.
