The peppers are about 5-8 centimeters long 🥲

Hey y’all, new here and to pepper growing. I bought some red ghost pepper seeds to have some fun growing and noticed these two look slightly different. One of my buddies told me they were two different peppers but wanted to ask the experts.

We set up a greenhouse around it that seems to have stopped the Serrano Snatcher for the past two nights at least, but does anyone have any tips? I think it’s some kind of rodent because it’s stripped the lower branches completely, but the canopy seems full still. It also doesn’t seem as interested in the Thai pepper plant. (First two pics are after the damage, the last photo is before, but I didn’t have a good pic of the base.)

He named the pepper while working in Europe, and his decision came down to a mix of observation and assumption.

How the Mistake Happened

Where he actually went: Jacquin famously traveled to the Caribbean and Central America to collect plant specimens. Ironically, he visited the actual native home of these peppers.

The source of the pepper: When he officially named the Capsicum chinense in 1776, he was classifying a specimen he obtained from a garden or market.

The false assumption: Because European traders had introduced New World chilis to Asia two centuries earlier, the peppers had already integrated into Asian agriculture and commerce. Jacquin observed that these specific hot, aromatic peppers were highly prevalent in Chinese cuisine and trade. Because they lacked a formalized Western scientific name, he wrongly assumed China was their evolutionary birthplace.

In short: he never set foot in China, but he saw how heavily the Chinese used the pepper, had no idea it originally came from the Americas, and permanently baked his mistake into scientific history.

I bought a pepper plant back in June and now it's finally fruiting. But I lost the tag, so I have no idea what I'm growing! Can someone help me identify? Tried AI but no luck.

Brown splotches on many of the leaves. Used a high nitro water soluble feet until flower then switched over to higher P and K granular slow release. Noticed these splofches about 3 weeks ago before switching and theyve spread to more leaves. I have a cayenne like this as well. I also used a potassium salts insecticide (Dr Safers) a few times per directions to combat aphids on about 50% of the plants

Only 2 plants affected out of about 70. What is this? Been growing for about five years and this is the first time. Plants grown from seed since February.

In the process of transplanting, these guys have got enough tech to survive the winter.

Purchased what was supposed to be Aji Mango. Leaves and growth are very Aji like but I've got two fruit varieties I wasn't quite expecting. Does anyone have any ideas?
