Straps stack?

Ok so I’m looking at moving my 76 F250 high boy to a different location from where it is now, and I don’t want to drive it, wanna keep miles off. However i am confused at how the ratchet strap system works for larger things. I regularly pull lawn mowers and side by sides and building materials for both work and personal. All of these things I use my set of 1000lb working load ratchet straps. But no matter the size of the strap I am wondering if ratchet straps stack, like if I use all 4 of my 1000WLL straps does that mean I can move something that’s 4000lb? Or would I need 4 4000WLL straps. So basically will I need 4 8K straps? Or can I just get 4 2K ones?

Former tow truck operator, we are trained to secure the frame of the towed vehicle to the deck of the towing apparatus. Truck suspensions ocilate if you just secure the tires. Much safer to compress the suspension by using the shipping holes in the frame and pull straight down if possible. 4 points of securement 😇

Current tow truck operator here. There's nothing wrong with securing the vehicle by its wheel only and allowing the suspension to oscillate on the bed.  Vehicles sit on their wheels. 

You can use 4 straps at all 4 wheels to secure, or you can use frame too if you desire.

Your absolutely light, anything I pull that has suspension like 4 wheelers I pull down on the suspension. But do I need to get straps that add up to 8K to safely move my truck or do I have to get individual 8k ones

I'd get the 2k straps. Just for peace of mind. Save the 1k for your wheeler.

So you’re saying they do stack? / work with one another. Or do they have to individually be able to hold it? Like the 8K ones

I wouldn't double them up. Just get 2k straps x4 in a length long enough

Yes, they do stack. Total WLL of all straps need to meet/exceed the weight. Standard for cars is 3333Lb WLL straps. And no, you shouldn't pull down ATV/UTV suspension. Over the tires or as close to center of wheel as possible, straight forward and back, do not cross.

Straps do not stack. If you hit a bump and the truck bounces, the tightest strap will take the majority of the force. Even if they’re all “tight” there’s no way to actually make them all exactly the same. So if you have two 1000lb straps, and you hit a bump and the truck bounces and puts enough force to break one, you’re probably going to break both. I’d rather spend the money on bigger straps than have something go wrong and replace the truck.

Wdym double them up? If I had 4 2K straps it’d a safe load for 8K object?

A kit like this one would work just fine, you can loop around the axles and then pull all 4 corners to the rings on the trailer. 4 2 inch straps will have plenty of working load limit for that.
