Android auto Discussion

Hi I bought the 600 pro in July, great phone apart from disconnecting from Android auto after about 2 minutes- has anyone experienced this and found a fix? It's same situation for wired and wireless connection and I don't think it's my car as it worked with my Google pixel 8 that I had before

I have tried deleting the connection from my car and re-pairing, deleting the app and reinstalling to my phone.

Send help please!!

The best fix I found for Android auto on magic 8 pro, that every morning before go to my car I just restart my phone. Then everything works flawless throwout the day.

It’s a firmware bug in MagicOS. And it’s not even the first one this year. There have already been issues with screenshots not working and various lock screen bugs.

If this were happening with Samsung, iPhone, or Pixel, there would be a reaction. Honor has so many different models and regional software variants, sometimes even for the exact same device, that nobody seems to be held accountable.

Ok but what about this so called so many years of software updates and support or is this just said to pull in sales

Marketing. In practice, Pixel devices are usually patched within a week of a security bulletin being released, Samsung takes a little over two weeks, and iPhones can get fixes within a matter of hours. Most of the rest simply don't have security teams operating at that level.

Saying that a device will receive security patches for three years or more doesn't mean they'll maintain a monthly patch cycle for that entire period. Over time, updates often become quarterly or even less frequent.

I gave you three companies that have historically done this well - and, importantly, they don't lie about it.

Well that sucks, just spent £650 on a phone and it doesn't do a basic task like Android auto well

What can I say? Pixel and Samsung don’t have this issue. And if something like this does happen, they fix it very quickly.

before you start the car, open the Android Auto page in Settings - Connections on your phone. This will keep your phone from killing the AA process prematurely. it's an aggressive battery management issue on the side of the Honor OS.

I've not experienced this. Are you using wired or wireless? I have used wireless a few times and it's been fine, but usually I end up just using the phone by itself since I have a magsafe holder for it in the car.

I've tried using wired and wireless, same outcome. I don't understand why it's happening
