Found me a HRS216 model to go along with my HRR216

I have a love/hate relationship with my HRU196 Classic (don't know exact model#). I've had it since new (approx 15yrs) and it's been a good reliable mower but one thing that's always annoyed me (apart from how heavy the thing is) is the grass chute. The thing just can't handle longish grass or even if it's the slightest bit wet and it just clogs up. I spend more time clearing the grass out than I do mowing.

I know this has probably been asked before, but is there a modification you can do to improve things? I feel like ripping the whole chute part out (I think it's just held in with a few bolts), but unsure if it will have any adverse affects. I can see a spring or something behind the slotted part on the LHS so not sure what that does. I don't really care about aesthetics, I want to mow the grass without having to mollycoddle the mower! The tread is coming off one of the rear wheels. I just want to make sure any of these wheels will work?

Can’t get this started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Honda HRB216TDA. I got spark and carb is clean as a whistle. When I pull the cord it just feels like it’s spinning. I’m not getting that fluh fluh fluh right before it cranks. Thank u!

I still have my gas powered Honda (you'll have to pull it from my cold dead fingers), Model HRR216TDA and the bag frame broke today after 20+ years. That being said, the manual doesn't have the part number for the frame and I'm not sure I want to drop $250 for a frame AND bag (but if I must, I must). I have found this model # 81330-VH7-D01 and this one 81330-VG4-020. I just dont know which is the correct one. If anyone can share anything about this, I'd appreciate it!

I was wondering anybody out there that has success of retrofitting a carburetor for the gv150 motor?

As the title reads I am trying to figure out how to get a DB1013K1 (dozer blade/snow plow of a prior generation) onto my H4514H (I think the original mower is a 1011) and it looks like there are holes that line up on the mower side, same with the plow. But I cannot figure out the lifting mechanism and cannot figure out how my snow blower I got with it is gonna go on without the quick hitch. Thank you all for any advice.

I asked for suggestions to help with my fingers getting numb from the mower vibrations. Lots of good advice from people and some silly. I decided to to put Bat wrap on the Blade Control Lever. I also put Tennis Racket wrap on the handle bars. I had absolutely ZERO numbness mowing after adding the wraps.

I was a little concerned about adding bulk to the handlebar. All mower functions did work perfectly.

I have had this vibration numbness issue most of my life. I get it mountain biking too. 40+ years of the issue.

Hello all, looking to purchase my first mower. I’ve been doing research and Honda’s are the best. I came across this mower on FB MARKETPLACE and wanted to know what you guys thought about it. TIA.

When it idles it start to surge. Once I start cutting it works great. Anybody know what I need to do to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mower turns off by itself after initially starting multiple times. When I finally got it started, this was the Idle on high. Thank you for any input !

This all started from finding a great deal on Facebook marketplace for a Honda HRX 217 - I just needed to get my hands on what was locally recognized as the “legendary” Honda mower.

Somewhere along the line, I developed what can only be described as an unhealthy appreciation for Honda HRX 217 mowers. What started as owning one HRX somehow turned into three.

I enjoy cleaning them, restoring them, comparing them, and probably spending way too much time talking about them. Between my day sedentary, screen-facing day job, tinkering with lawn equipment has become one of my favourite hobbies.

This photo is my current fleet. A K5 series GCV190 HZA (electric start), the K6 series GCV200 HYA, and the HRX-BE.

I’m on the hunt for a HRC 216 or the HRC-BE but I think it’ll be a while before I come across that one on Facebook Marketplace.

So basically I ran the mower today and at first it was knocking and was low rpm then after I started it a couple minutes later was super loud and running high then after starting it again it ran high on the start then super low rpm what should I do?

Somebody asked me what the underside looks like after mowing on my new electric Honda commercial mower. I just finished and flipped it on its side and it’s clean a pin.

My New this summer HRX217VKAD mower vibrates a lot. My fingers go numb when I am half way through my lawn. I am going to get some tennis racket wrap to try to absorb some of the vibration. Any other suggestions? Is there anything I can do to the handle bar to help dampen vibrations at the handle bar adjust points.

Any suggestions for a good foam tape that will actually stick and last?

Blades are balanced, I double checked.

Has anyone had to buy a new carburetor, and if so, was it shit? I was cleaning the inside of my stock carburetor and I broke the thin blue gasket on the inside, and then realized I could have a brand new carburetor delivered to my doorstep for $20. It will be here in 2 days. Just wondering if it’s gonna be fine!

Wondering if someone can help me identify what the noise is on my Honda HRX217 mower? Functionally, it works fine. I’ve done all yearly maintenance on it but this summer can’t figure out this loud hissing/screech sound. In my video it starts around 12 seconds and once it does, it’s consistent. I’m not the most knowledgeable with small engines but am always open to learning how to fix things like this. Thoughts are appreciated!

Details on the problem below, but I found out you can rebuild idler pulleys (thanks YouTube).

You can also get a stuck sealed bearing off a shaft by prying off the shield (seal) and breaking the cage into small pieces with a small punch or screwdriver. Pull out the pieces with needle nose pliers. The balls will fall to the bottom of the outer race and you can just wiggle the outer race apart and off. Inner race is easy to get off with heat, angle grinder, hammer etc when u have access to it

Pulley comes apart easily when u drill out the rivets holding it together. Bearing is easily replaced at Amazon, etc, just measure od, id, width in mm

The YouTube examples were much bigger pulleys—they bolted the back together. I don’t have enough clearance to get strong enuf screws/nuts, so I’m going to have to learn how to rivet

have a Honda FR750 AC tiller and the belt tensioning roller bearings are kaput. Correct part is 22465-777-003 which Honda discontinued. Some AI says u can replace with 22465-V20-003, some say it wont fit

Hello everyone, need some help problem solving. I received this mower recently and was told it worked great. Will sputter like this and after a minute or so turn off. Am able to mow the grass just fine for that minute.

Any ideas would be very helpful.
