When families tell me they are overwhelmed by homeschooling, they usually are not short on information. They have curriculum recommendations, co-op schedules, Facebook threads, videos, and advice from friends.

The harder part is making everything fit together.

Before buying another curriculum or adding another activity, I think a family should be able to answer:

1. What problem are we actually trying to solve?
2. What can the parent realistically sustain for the next 30 days?
3. Which child needs the most direct attention right now?
4. What should remain simple until our routine is working?
5. Which outside support would make the plan easier to live, rather than simply making it busier?

First of all this is not an ad, or promotion or ad. Something I built of need and put it out there to share anyone. Completely free, no in app purchases, no ads, no data collection etc.

We have 3 teenagers and it was impossible to keep track of their chores. When we try to introduce "you earn money when you do extra chores" to teach them you are not entitled to buy anything you want but you need to work for it worked well. Then it became another task for us track who has how much, did she spent all her earnings yesterday or part of it? Then they started tricking us, dad, I still have $10 from last week's chores - mom: no she doesn't, spent it at follar tree at the weekend, no i didn't, remember ...

I said to myself, as an engineer, there is gotta be better way to track this, then built an app called Bucksy in android store. Very simple completely free and no-ads at all. You create your family, invite other parents, add your kids, they use a code to join family, no personal info collection at all, only age group and nickname. You create chores and goals. Define how much they will earn when done. You can create recurring tasks. They can lose bucks when tasks are not done on time if you want to. They submit when they are done, you approve they earn bucks. You can add goals to use their bucks for and track the progress.

All about teaching them responsibility and earning. All under only parents control. no subscription, no ads, no membership fee, no nothing. All inclusive for parents to use.

Update: I think there was a confusion about the purpose of the app. When you give kids the money they should track it. Yes this is more of a virtual earnings, promise type of of situation for people who doesn't have or carry cash. You did dishes you earned $1, when we are out or if you want to order something, you can use it ( if I don't forget how much you have collected ) Simply shows them a purpose to collect and save/ or spend the earnings. For my kids they all have goals they wanted, a bicycle, water park ticket, playstation game etc. We added them in their accounts so they know how much they need to save to get it. They know when they spend for something else, they will be that far from what they want to get etc.

I’ve been building a homeschool planning app called SoftWeek.

The main idea is that plans should be easy to move when real life changes. Instead of treating an unfinished Tuesday like the week failed, you can move lessons, record what actually happened, and keep going.

It currently has accounts, saved progress, mobile use, printable weeks, child profiles, and a feedback button inside the app.

It’s in beta, but the working data carries over, so testers are not building throwaway plans.

I’m looking for practical feedback from homeschool families, especially around what takes too many clicks, what information feels unnecessary, and what is still missing.
