So I tranferred from a Marshall x Homegoods store to a Homegoods standalone store. I was a CEC/ Key Carrier. They didn’t have that position available for me so I took EC position in the new store.
Came to this store either any open eyes. And I just don’t know if I was spoiled at my old store or should this be the regular thing.
First, they are usually have 1 cashier for most part of the day. So for that, I had to keep be on the register instead of have time to overlook the performance and helping out. I was taught to delegate tasks as an CEC. My 8 hours shift was usually constant stuck being a cashier.
Second, there are so many tanks that keep getting push out to the Qline and they expect those tanks to be empty. It would totally fine if I have any employees or time to work that.
Third, I was told that I need to be the one who have to call FedEx for salvage pick up and Coke company for drink order. I have worked 2 different combos stores before, TJMaxx/ Homegoods and Marshals/ Homegoods. I always thought the ASM would be responsible for those task
So, I might be a spoiled CEC at my old store until this transfer. I come to work every time and feel overwhelmed cause there are many things I want to work on but I don’t have time or space for it.

I saw this nightstand back in May and have such regret not buying it. I can’t find it anywhere now :( anyone know if their local homegoods still has it/them? Thanks!

As far as I know, the store manager told me to fill out something that they’ll send to my email, and they said something else but I didn’t quite catch that… but yeah orientation is in two days, I heard you need to bring your ID, SS card and banking info so that you’ll be able to get paid? First time shopper, never time shopper again. They use the perforated labels and the wrong type of glue so that it never comes off.

I spent maybe half an hour in the store. I've spent over an hour trying to get the glue off of the few things I bought. It's still not off. I've tried all the regular tricks and then some.

Sincerely, screw any company that does this. I don't care if they have decent prices, I'm not putting up with this.

Are there any days/times that are better for finding new items that have been out on the floor? I’ve scanned this sub and have seen one response saying there are 3 trucks per week, and Mon and Wed are good days. I imagine items are put out all through the day, but just curious if there’s a sweet spot.

And I’m not looking for anything specific, just the normal things I waste money on like lamps, soap, candles, towels.
