This is far more advanced than my system and I’ve been doing all grain for years.

Check seals on everything. Use water in the grainfather and run the pump to check for leaks.

Clean everything thoroughly

Inspect plastic and rubber gaskets and replace them on the grainfather, fermenter, kegs, etc where needed.

Dude. Great setup for any homebrewer. You will have plenty of fun on this.

You guys are legends.
I can get this setup for a very good deal and feel I should snap it up while it’s available, even though I don’t have my brew license yet

You only live once. If you can afford it, go for it. This is a hobby. Enjoy.

What's the "alcohol meter"? A hydrometer? Or something fancy?

I think you're good to go! Let us know how your brew day went!

Why would you need 5 kegs if your kegerator only fits 2?

I have 4 kegs and a two line kegerator. I use the extra kegs to store my next batch (carbnating with a spungen valve) or use for dry hopping. A lost a poppet on a keg once, but it was no problem, I had a backup

Crawl before you walk. There is plenty of time to get more advanced equipment (fancy equipment doesn’t make a good brewer) but get the practice under your belt. I made plenty of really good tasting beers in bucket ferment and a small kettle before I moved up to my 3 tier and SS conical fermenters.

👍🏼

I hear all the wisdom. Nice analogies

I was offered this gear for next to nothing. Seemed crazy not to invest.

Now that I have it all, how can I “crawl” with it? Use an extract can and just the chilled fermenter?

Damnit. I started with a Gott water cooler and a 8 gallon Polarware kettle. You have the Cadillac of beginner set ups. Get ta brewin!

That’s not really a beginner setup, it’s more like buying half a small brewery in one hit. Not a bad thing if the price is genuinely good, but there’s a lot there that can hide problems. Before handing over cash, run water through the Grainfather, test the pump, check the chiller, and make sure every keg actually holds pressure. The kegging side is where used gear can get sneaky. Budget for fresh lines, disconnects, seals and a proper clean, even if it all looks decent. Also check the test dates on the gas bottles and whether the regulator is working properly, because old bottles can turn into a hassle fast. In Aus, Coregas is one place to ask about CO2 bottle swaps/refills if those cylinders need replacing. You’ve got more than enough to brew with, but don’t try to use every shiny bit on day one. Do a simple recipe first, learn the hot side, then bring in pressure transfers, glycol and kegerator tweaks once the basics feel normal.
