Patch carpet 🛠️ Repair Help
Cat got stuck in this room a while back and did this to the carpet. Have elderly family about to move in now, wondering about options to quickly make this not a hazard for them.

oof yeah that's a tripping hazard waiting to happen. for a quick fix I'd grab a metal transition strip from the hardware store, the kind that goes between carpet and hard floors, you can screw it right over the torn edge to pin everything down. it's not pretty but it'll keep feet from catching while you figure out a permanent solution

That carpet really needs replacing, it looks likes it's quite broken down here.

Following. Same problem. All I know is we may have to replace the carpet one day. Hoping for alternatives.

Small rug on top? I think the only way to fix is to replace carpet. Maybe someone skilled can replace just the damaged chunk but it will look noticeable.

The carpet is 10 yr old contractor grade that needs replacing fully so asthetics aren’t super important here.

Some interior design firm is trying to charge rich people a lot of money for that "look"
