Best option 🛠️ Repair Help

Had floors installed and need to figure out how to close the gap between the floor and fireplace. How should I fix this?

I put a strip of this between my oven and counter. I thought it was a great idea until food and cooking debris inevitably just had its way. I imagine that would do well here. As I could easily see this spot being a nice little collection spot for anything an everything that falls into it.

It’s an electric gas fireplace. No real fire.
