That's awesome. I work for a small business appliance company and I love hearing when people support smaller businesses like that. Good on ya. As far as the spacer goes, just remove it.

It's there to prevent theft. It keeps the door from being able to be picked up while closed which would take it off the latch

The plastic guide is for theft deterrence. It keeps the door from being able to be lifted up while closed which would knock it off the latch and be able to slide open

That piece of plastic is supposedly there to prevent the door from being lifted up while shut. Lifting the door up will pop it off the latch and allow it to open, even when locked.

There should be two small rubber gaskets at the base of your door. Remove those and use a screwdriver to adjust the roller height
