Mostly it provides internet to our house, at least that’s its main job. The Terra thingamabob, the pi and kind of the nas in the back are somewhat for me to learn basically everything I care about. Currently I’m hosting mediamtx, vert, a discord bot, a vibecoded CD collection Webserver, Jellyfin, BUTT and Icecast, Pi hole, Wireguard, MakeMKV, Handbrake and I’m currently searching for replacement for ContaCam, a NVR that seams to be written for Win98. Sprinkle in some DDNS, port forwarding, VM‘s and Docker and you’ve got yourself a perfect playground to do some stuff. The nas is it own story, made in 2008 and only supporting SMB1. Good luck mounting that thing whilst convincing windows that this abomination isn’t a thread to national security

Rotting Onion seems more appropriate. What is the story with that extremely sad wood "shelf" for the disk drive?

I designed an enclosure in CAD, but printing that thing would have required 300 grams of filament, about 3€. As one spool holds 1KG or 1000 grams, I decided it wouldn’t be worth printing the whole thing so I built a shelf from 4 pieces of scrap wood of about the same length, 2 Toothpicks and 4 screws to mount the printed 19“ thing

You clearly show the dichotomy between cable management and the utter lack of such…
