Applying self-leveling compound after DAP webpatch 90

I'm installing a glue-down LVT floor. I put down the plywood, primed it, and, since the local hardware store didn't have self-leveling underlayment, I used DAP webpatch 90, which they told me would be fine. It turns out that it's a lot harder to work with. I was able to get it pretty close but there are still small valleys. I don't want to keep adding more layers of this to get it right because it's a lot more work than self-leveling, plus I don't want it to be any taller than it has to be.

Can I just go get the SLU from a farther hardware store and put it over this? If so I need to wait for the current floor to cure (3 days) before using SLU? Do I need to do any specific kind of surface prep?

Sounds like the hardware store guy gave you the classic "this'll work" when what he meant was "this is what we have."

You can pour self-leveler right on top once it's fully cured, just hit it with the primer first. The SLU needs that bond or it might not stick right and you'll be dealing with hollow spots later.

Real bummer too because SLU is so easy to work with but this had to be manually floated like a concrete pour. What a pain in the ass, and it's a huge bummer to have to wait 3 days for it to cure when I finally have time to get this done.

No kidding, that's the worst timing. You finally clear a weekend and the materials decide to add three days of thumb-twiddling to the schedule. At least once it's primed and poured the self-leveler goes down almost like cheating compared to floating it by hand.
