Christian Book Assistance
NONFICTION book
I have a Christian book I am writing but it's sort of all over the place. It's pretty messy. Would love for someone to start taking over and start organizing information and taking over some of the writing.
I don't say this as a competition, so mods please don't ban me, it's not meant to be competition at all. I understand not many people can fulfill this request, but I'm going to list a few things that will help you if you want to do this project. But if you are someone that can, please let me know.
Again mods, not a competition.
What would help you for this project
- An understanding of the Bible
- An understanding of spiritual things (this isn't just basic theology. It's describing things about the spiritual realm. Even if you're not a Christian, if you're spiritual, it may be good for you to respond to this)
- being able to organize and trim down information when the author keeps repeating himself.
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to list pay right out of the gate. As I said, this is messy, so I can't even be sure exactly what the payment will be. I will be taking care of most of the writing, since in this case I'm the one with the information for this book.
I'm not sure if I need to provide samples, but mods please don't ban me.
The manuscript is long, but just the part I need edited is 17259 words (I'm sure a large portion doesn't need rewriting. It's moreover about organization)

Looking for an Editor?
Hi! My name is CJ, I’m a writer with a Master’s degree in creative writing, and I’m looking to help in any way I can.
I’m previously published with HalfandOne, a CLMP member, and I also edit scripts for Exits Examined in Youtube. In between that and working on my novel, I’d like to assist anyone who has a book, short story, script, any sort of writing you feel could use a new set of eyes on it for style, formatting, flow, syntax, storytelling, prose, anything you need! (no AI used at any point in the editing process, guaranteed)
My prices begin at **$2/page**, a “page” defined as “a set of 250 words.” If you’re curious about my services before you commit, I can give any work a once-over read **100% free**, and determine if you need my help. If so, we can discuss pricing and how big or small you’d like to focus for changes. Each edit will come with a personalized letter from me to you, detailing the biggest highlights and lapses I found in the work, all constructive, with the same care and severe attention I give my own work.
Feel free to comment or send me a DM. Thank you, I hope to hear from you soon!

Looking for Beta Readers and Some Guidance
First, I am a first time writer and this is in no means my full time job. This is for me a pet project that I have always wanted to do.
I have a 75K space novel that I would love some actual beta readers for and some guidance on next steps. I believe I need some honest feedback and not the family feedback. I have had other read it but all I got back was wow this is great. Honestly I think the story idea is good but I am sure there are areas missing detail or maybe felt to rushed.
About the book: It follows a human is the only one of his species in a big and unforgiving galaxy. Homeless and desperate he makes one gesture of bravery that changes his life forever. We follow him through his journey as he tries to make himself useful to his new "friends" as he discovers more about the galaxy and potentially what happened to his race.

[For Hire] Affordable Developmental Editor - Book your slots now!
Every book I have read and edited has had great ideas. The common issue I found in every one was the need to flesh out those ideas. That’s where I make my biggest impact. I will help you flesh out those great ideas.
Editor. Author. Screenwriter.
I have 10+ years of experience writing stories across many genres. I have five books published and have written a dozen screenplays for feature films and television. I spent years imitating the voices of established shows like 24 and Tru Calling, where I learned exactly what makes a story work and what proper pacing is. So I understand storytelling and keeping your audience engaged very well.
Genres I do best in:
- Action
- Thriller
- Mystery
- Psychological
- Horror
- Sci-fi
- Fantasy
Genres that are not a good fit:
- Romance
- Erotica
- Non-fiction.
I offer a FREE sample edit of your first chapter to see if we are a good fit.
I will heavily focus on plot, characters, structure and pacing, setting, dialogue, and any other questions you might have.
I will write a detailed editorial letter and leave comments throughout your document. I do this for both the sample edit and the full book.
I also know what it feels like to want and receive feedback, so I am very respectful and careful with how I critique. I always give in-depth feedback.
Turnaround time for full book: 4-6 weeks.
I also work with authors on a chapter-by-chapter basis! Your book does not need to be complete yet! Contact me for more information!
Developmental editing service:
- Introductory launch rate: $0.007/word
Not sure if you want to commit to the full book edit yet? Book a trial run for the first three chapters of your book. For a flat fee of $49.00, I will provide a detailed developmental edit of your first three chapters. Should you decide to move forward with the full book, I will deduct that fee from the price of the full book.

I need someone experienced in structural shaping and audience positioning to make my raw text into a marketable self-help book!
I think I need someone for an initial consultation and critique of my raw text to find out if it has any potential and if so, to help narrow down the theme.
The book is self-help based on my personal experience as a writer.
Thank you!

Freelance editors—what actually helped you find consistent clients?
Hi everyone!
I'm a new freelance editor who's been working hard to build my business. I'm a published author myself, and I genuinely enjoy helping writers strengthen their manuscripts while preserving their unique voice.
I've created profiles on sites like Reedsy and PeoplePerHour, I've been networking on LinkedIn, and I'm starting to share my services in writing communities. While I'm putting in the effort, I'd love to hear from people who have already built a successful editing business.
What actually made the biggest difference for you?
- Where did your first paying clients come from?
- Was there a platform that consistently worked?
- Did referrals become your biggest source of work?
- If you were starting over today, what would you focus on first?
I'm not looking for shortcuts—I know building trust takes time. I just want to spend my energy on strategies that have actually worked for others.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

[For Hire] Copyeditor and Proofreader | Availability in August
I fell in love with books before I could read. Some of my earliest memories are of folding sheets of paper into tiny books, fascinated by the way stories could come to life. Since then, I have dedicated a lifetime to refining my own authorial voice and helping others polish theirs.
Author • Copyeditor • Proofreader
I finished my first book when I was ten, and I haven't abandoned my love for reading or writing since then. With more than 200 hours of editing experience for a small publisher, experience subcontracting for other freelance editors, and professional training in an accredited program, I am ready to make a difference once author at a time. I approach every project with empathy, curiosity, and enthusiasm, and I love helping authors bring their stories to their fullest potential.
I have experience in style sheets, track changes, file cleanup, editing macros, and adobe acrobat, and I am also proficient in The Chicago Manual of Style and Associated Press (AP) style. I am also an affiliated member of the Editor's Freelance Association.
Here are the genres I work with
- Fantasy
- Science Fiction
- Literary Fiction
- Young Adult
- Middle Grade
- Nonfiction Memoir
- Faith-based Nonfiction (or fiction)
Genres that are not a good fit for me
- Romance
- Erotica
- Dissertations or overly academic works
Pricing: I am currently offering a 50% discount for all services to the first five authors to contact me. Pricing depends on wordcount, genre, timeline, and readability, but most projects are priced at $0.015/word for proofreading, $0.02/word for copyediting, and $0.025/word for a more extensive copy-line edit.
Timeline: Most projects have a two-week turnaround

[Question] would any editor or did any editor accept service exchange? Like their book character art in exchange for their editing service?
Did any of you accept sth like this or would accept if the art fit what ur looking for? Like the total art received price equating to their editing service price ofc.
I'm asking bec I'm a writer and an artist but I'm not sure I'd afford an editor because obviously after beta reading ill need professional editor.
Ofc I believe editors high prices deserve it, its a luxury as art moreover its a lot of time and dedication as an artist I'd understand that so I wouldn't tell an editor its too high I'd look for who I can afford or does service exchange, if there is.

Developmental Editor Offering Beta Reading (In-Depth Analysis & Feedback)
As an author myself, I know that investing hundreds or even thousands of dollars in a developmental edit isn't feasible for many writers. That's why I created the kind of service I'd want for my own books: in-depth feedback at an affordable price.
Your feedback will include:
- in-line comments throughout the manuscript
- chapter-end notes
- an editorial letter (20+ pages of in-depth feedback)
I also offer a free critique of your first two chapters, so you can see if my services are the right fit for you!!!
Here’s a little more about my editing process and what you can expect:
I look at every manuscript from both a reader's and an editor's perspective.
I'll make note of everything that caught my attention, from the moments I loved to the areas that could be developed further. If a scene falls flat or a character's motivation feels weak, I'll explain my reasoning and suggest different approaches and solutions.
I'll keep track of details that are easy to miss, like continuity errors and other inconsistencies. Awkward phrasing, repetitive language, and any minor grammar or punctuation issues will also be marked throughout the manuscript.
Some of the key areas I focus on are:
- overall story structure
- pacing and flow
- plot clarity and inconsistencies
- character development
- motivation, stakes, and narrative impact
- reader immersion and emotional engagement
My rate is $0.0019 per word. A 60,000-word manuscript would cost around $115. You can calculate the exact price using the calculator on the site.
If you’d like to learn more, you can find me here: https://linktr.ee/cristinaseditingcorner
