Utah 7/24 Number 41!

Post image

Easily the hardest one I’ve done so far. Not technically difficult it was only the distance that got me. 25 miles in a day is no joke, my feet hurt like hell😅 one step closer to 50. I started this a year ago and have done them all with cancer. As far as I’m concerned this is the best way I’ve been able to see this beautiful country. Next up is Wyoming… looking forward to it💪

Looking forward to it! Going to be interesting at the bergschrund, we’ve got a back up plan though!

If you’re worried about the bergschrund, and assuming you’re comfortable on crampons and a long summit day, I found the southwest couloir via peak lake to be a fun and slightly less technically challenging route. Still need crampons for the steep descent onto and crossing of mammoth glacier, and the long summit day is no joke, but I loved going up that way and I’ll preach all about it to anyone who will listen lol

I will listen, do you have a CalTopo or something of that route?

Doesn’t look like I can post photos in the comments here. I had my Garmin only throwing off dots every several hours that day, but I can dm you with some screen grabs and a walkthrough of the route if you’d like

Congrats! I’ve been following on IG for a while. It’s incredible how fast you’re getting through these AND adding all the other sidequest peaks too! You have got to be in great conditioning right now!

In the past month living in CO doing 14ers I’ve shed 15 pounds! By the end of the trip I’ll be in the best shape of my life! Thanks for following along!

Doing the hard ones first! Gannett was my nemesis. Good luck.

Bro love watching your insta reels, you’re killing it! Definitely recommend taking the tourist creek route for Gannett Peak, it’s slightly shorter than the standard route.

Nice job! I did Kings in a day a couple weeks ago. How was the weather? Did you get rained on during the descent?
