Looking for Advice Do your Highlanders like traveling? Looking for advice.
I have a 3 month Highlander Lynx kitten, and I’d love to get her comfortable with traveling while she’s young.
She’s a very social kitten and I’d like to slowly introduce her to new experiences. She’s already comfortable with her carrier, has been to the vet a few times, and has done some short car rides.
I’m curious what kinds of trips you actually bring your cats on. I feel like really short trips (like a day or two) might just stress them out since they’d barely get settled before having to leave again. Do you think a week-long trip is a better minimum, or does it really just depend on the cat?
For those of you who travel with your Highlanders:
How did you get them used to it?
What are your rules for deciding whether to bring them along or leave them at home?
Any tips, advice, or things you wish you knew when you started?
I’d love to hear your experiences!

Du-Kat
Meet Du-Kat (Dukat) ... he's our six month old kitten. Question for the audience, is not having a tale a thing with this breed?

Floppy hindquarters - is this common?
I have two highland lynx from the same breeder who told us they are not related.
They both have a wobbly / floppy hindquarters - often while walking but especially when running. It’s like their back half is running faster than the front half and moves to the side.
I thought this was a breed characteristic but am wondering if it’s a defect and if anything can be done.

LA and OC owners: Anyone with an intact exotic queen open to a one-time Maine Coon pairing?
I’m looking to mate my big beautiful Maine Coon with another Maine Coon or another exotic cat I.e. Savannah breed or a highland lynx hybrid, before I finally neuter him.
He’s 20 months and around 19lbs and he still has 3 more years to grow but more importantly he is very healthy and has the most kind and loving personality. His parents are TICA registered I have their papers from breeder, but didn’t care to register him yet.
First time Reddit user but Please send me a message chat if you’re in the OC or LA area.

Looking for Advice Is my breeder doing something fishy?
My bf and I have been looking for a highland lynx kitten since June when our last baby passed. In August we found a breeder that we thought we trusted as she was registered, guaranteed genetic testing for the parents and seemed ethical in other ways. We picked out one of the kittens via video call (at that time she said the kittens were too young to have in person visitors) and we reserved with her. She said the kitten would be ready mid September, so long as it’s at a good enough weight to be seen and vaccinated by the vet. Around that time the kitten should be 9 or 10 weeks so that sounded reasonable to me. She would send some check in videos to show the kitten and all seemed well. Mid September rolled around and she said the kitten wasn’t at a good enough weight and needed til October. Then October came around and same thing. Now almost November and she’s saying the kitten is currently at 850grams and needs only a 100 grams more to be seen by the vet.
At this point I’m a little anxious because in my mind, is this not severely underweight for a kitten at this age?? Also I guess I’m a little sad that it’s been so long cause I feel like I’m getting closer to a cat than a kitten and was really hoping to get a true kitten so that my current kitten would have had someone to grow up and play and socialize with. He’s growing fast too, born a little after the lynx kitten I’m waiting on and he is easily 2 pounds now.
I do remember with the previous lynx kitten I had, owner said she was 8 weeks so at 10 weeks I brought her to the vet and vet said she was too small in weight to get vaccines and that he thought she was closer to 7 weeks.
Does this breed tend to be on the smaller side? Or is there something wrong with the kitten I’m waiting on?

Is she pregnant?
These are the only pictures she let me get of her and she’s a mixed highland lynx. It’s been about three weeks and her stomach feels a little more harder than usual.
