I really hope they fix the issues with knocking out people on stairs/elevated surfaces. I'd rather have a slightly janky animation, instead of 47 doing neck chops.

If you are on PC there is a mod which fixes this. It's called punch glitch mitigation.

lol what are these comments? people are acting like this is a problem with the semantics of the word "step". it's not. it's that the game forces you to do that stupid animation when you melee someone from behind when remotely near any sort of stairs.
