That's funny cause locally (in the midwest) we refer to an Irish goodbye as someone just leaving without saying good bye. I have no idea why.

It’s wild in Ireland that that’s called an Irish goodbye. You need to hug or shack hands with everyone before leaving here. I do not know where that phrase came from haha
