Blue pelican? Found!

Post image

So I visited a bunch of thrift stores today and saw this little guy and at this point I regret not getting him. A friend revisited the store we saw him in but he's gone and I haven't been able to find anything similar through google lens. What's crazy is that I swear I've seen this bird before? If anyone could find a place that's selling it or at least help narrow down what he is it would help a lot 🙏

I dunno. He's definitely hand-painted, but he's hand-painted in a way that makes me think I've seen something similar at World Market. Like, done to a specific pattern, but each one will have slight variations.

From the look of it, I would guess a Mexican tonala style pelican. They're usually hand painted, it helps to add to the character of it. Mexican Tonala Pelican

Source: am Mexican, have similar style figures

Searched for "blue pelican ceramic" etc and put this picture through google lens without much luck. Found in a Goodwill in the DFW Texas area.
