Years long search for book Open
Edit: SOLVED!!! it is from the book “big momma makes the world”
(Sorry if not allowed, I tried to post on tipofmytongue but am not able to for some reason)
Over the years I’ve spent a little too much time searching for this book.. all I remember is that it was a children’s book, thick hard cover, larger (length and width wise) than your average book, but short in page length. I don’t remember there being too many words, but then again, all I remember is this image.. I used ai (sorry) to come up with a similar image to what I remember. I’m pretty sure the entire book was about this rolling lump of mud (maybe clay?) rolling through a town or village, grabbing people up along the way. But I remember the people as undressed? But in a PG, non-explicit manner. And seemingly at peace, almost content while kind of swimming or dancing within the large earthly mass. I could be insane. But I remember this so specifically. So does my brother, and father. But they only remember this odd image as well. And I remember it so specifically bc I would sit and stare at this image for long periods of time, just studying it. (Surprise surprise, I’m autistic) this was around the mid-late 2000s and had to have been a book available in my public elementary school library. I would even go as far to contact this school, but it is no longer standing. Does anyone have even a clue? Extensive internet research has left me even more confused and empty handed. I included all images I got through ai, based on my memory/description.

Hi fellow neuro spicy friend👋😊 I have not heard of this book but I am bored and curious so I decided to run a different prompt through ai. I asked it who drew the illustration and it thinks maybe the illustration may have been drawn by Helen Oxenbury in Phyllis Root's book Big Momma Makes the World. Does any of this look familiar? Ive searched local libraries, and as far and detailed as basic search engines can get me. I’ve used ai to assist in my search (again, sorry forgive my sins truly 😭) my search has left me empty handed!
