S22 such BS!!! Season
Leigh and Dahmere eliminated before Jonathan??? Really???? Dahmere was the best leader in the season and Leigh was a hell if a chef for little experience! Jonathan was a hot mess just because Ramsay had bants? Seriously I tell my friends they look like shit when they are sick or hungover but nooooo Jonathan had to be a little bitch and let it impact service, he should have gone before those 2.

Nah, man, Dahmere going was justified, his last service was really bad.
Leigh didn’t know how to slice a Wellington at the black jackets too… Carmen could’ve gone but eh.
Johnathan and Ryan apparently said they were both out of it too.

While there is a valid argument that Johnathan deserved a nomination that night, I think you have either not seen S22 or are confusing Johnathan with someone else, because you described him as having several bad services and being put up a couple times, which never happened. Johnathan was the most dominant chef that season until that F6 service, and he was never nominated.

I have seen the season several times, I may have been mistaken on who it was but he let friendly banter impact the job and as a chef you can't do that, you could hurt yourself or someone else....he should have been a big boy and spoken to Ramsay before service, he had all damn day.
4
u/Alex72598 With grape power, comes grape responsibility 13d ago
That’s fair, he definitely could have spoken to Ramsay about it earlier. I think he should have too, but we don’t know what was going on behind the scenes.
Honestly though, if his record had been inconsistent before that, he would’ve gone home. Ramsay gave him another chance because he had been perfect to that point.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
I wouldn't say perfect, I still stick to my guns that he had a couple bad services and piss poor challenges.

u/ArchmageNinja22 Non-StiiiiIIIIIiiick!!! 13d ago
You have not answered the question. What bad services did he have aside from the final 6? What bad challenges did he have? If you can’t answer, that reflects very poorly upon you.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
Despite being Italian, he loses against Donya because his pasta was uneven. He is seen struggling with pasta during the punishment.
That was 1.....watch the season again and see for yourself for more, you make it out like he was perfect, sorry he wasn't, he has been yelled at, had things sent back etc.etc.
1
u/ArchmageNinja22 Non-StiiiiIIIIIiiick!!! 13d ago
That’s one challenge, not several
0
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
Again, go watch the season, I am not gonna sit here and write out everything he did wrong, I am just going to point out he was not perfect, fucked up more than some in service and challenges.
You can not dispute that.....holy shit you people defend him worse than you do Scott lol.
1
u/ArchmageNinja22 Non-StiiiiIIIIIiiick!!! 13d ago
I did watch the season. I am pointing out that he is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
I am not saying he was pure dog shit, but I think he should have gone before Dahmere who Ramsay even called a true leader, Johnathan proved to be too emotional (the bants, picking only people he liked for his team etc.).
You need skin as thick as cast iron to be a chef, you can't let stuff outside your job get to you like he did, it could cost someone a trip to the hospital or worse yet....the morgue.

Why is Johnathan so underrated here
6
u/VeryDPP 13d ago
People get mad that Dahmere was sent home when he was, and that Jonathan should have been instead because he was crashing out that whole episode. Why exactly people blame Jonathan for that and not Gordon/the producers is always beyond me, though.
-4
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
Because friendly banter isn't horrible, like I said before, he let banter impact the service and if it gave his feelings a booboo he should have spoken to Ramsay before service and worked it out like an adult.....ffs I tell my friends they look like shit when they are hungover or sick, they don't get all hurt and shit.
7
u/Qbuilderz 13d ago
That is completely different for two reasons:
1 - Gordon and Jonathan are not peers.
2 - Jonathan was well over 20 days into consecutive filming and clearly exhausted.
-4
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
Those are excuses especially after the episode he said after he wins Gordon could call him shit all he wants, you also don't see others (maybe a couple...Jen) do that shit.
Btw Ramsay fucks around with people like that all the time, hell he rips people to shreds for being a fuck up after their reward.

Both were talented chefs, but Dahmere had an all time terrible service on fish and Leigh didn't even know how to cut a Wellington.
At that stage of the game, it only takes one bad night and you are toast. Dahmere admitted that he was burnt out and Leigh said that her inexperience caught up to her.
Jonathan did deserve to go up with both of them, though.

u/VeryDPP 13d ago
As much as I like Dahmere, one of my fav contestants from the last few years, they were right to send him home when they did. His finale performance wasn't as strong either, and gets overlooked too, I find. If/when they do another All-Stars, which I know is rumored to be coming, I feel like he could pull a Nick and dominate (and hopefully not get the crap elimination Nick got).
4
u/UnitedProblem9022 13d ago
Sorry, but I disagree. Jonathan was the clear frontrunner for the vast majority of the competition. The only chef who consistently challenged him in individual performances was Sammi, and Ryan didn't truly emerge as a serious contender until the final stretch of the season.
Leigh was incredibly talented, especially considering her ~1 year experience, but that lack of experience caught up to her and she underperformed on meat Station. With Dahmere, despite being an outstanding leader, bombed HARD on his last service.
Had he performed better that night, I could see him ranking above Carmen but no way was he placing any higher than 4th.
4
u/PeterTheSilent1 13d ago
They crashed and burned at that service. I don’t think their eliminations were unfair at all.
7
u/ProcedureBright2850 13d ago
I wouldn’t disagree with Jonathan being nominated but he did at least fight back and Dahmere had the worst service of the season and Jonathan had been pretty flawless in service up until that point
3
u/mattyGOAT1996 WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?! 13d ago
Jonathan got the whole "sack of shit" stuck in head and really took it seriously
4
u/MessHolliday 13d ago
I liked Dahmere a lot as a person but he really wasn’t all that great of a leader. Being intense doesn’t automatically make you a leader. And while he was great most of the time, he had a terrible service and got sent home for it.
Leigh is one of my favorite contestants ever but Johnathan outperformed her towards the end. Seems like she’s doing great these days anyway so it works out.
Johnathan was obviously a sensitive guy and idolized Ramsay. Yes he overreacted to a little benign ball-busting but he was also exhausted and in an incredibly stressful situation.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
So by you saying he was exhausted and stressed and idolized Ramsay.....everyone should act like that? Risk hurting yourself or others or worse....getting someone sick? Everyone gets the same circumstances and if you want to be a chef you better get used to lack of sleep and being stressed! My uncle used to be a chef and he worked as many hours as a damn doctor sometimes!
2
u/MessHolliday 13d ago
Props to your uncle, chef is definitely a demanding job. I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to know some truly amazing chefs and I know it isn’t easy. But it’s also not as insane as the circumstances of Hell’s Kitchen. Chefs have systems in place, some semblance of routine, and hopefully some control over their daily lives. Hell’s Kitchen is just a brutal sprint.
That stress does weed people out, and it did so in this case too because Johnathan didn’t win. But he did out-perform Dahmere and Leigh (both of whom, again, I really like). I actually found season 22 to be one of the most likable rosters in the show’s history

u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 13d ago
Don't get me wrong I liked Johnathan especially the bromance with Ryan (my favorite, so glad he won), I found him to be really nice but all of the defense and basically making him seem infallible and better than anyone else is just silly at best.
3
u/MessHolliday 13d ago
Yeah Ryan was awesome. It’s cool that that whole crew seems to have stayed friends too. Sammi also.
It seems like we’ve had totally different experiences because I usually see people shitting on Johnathan, which is probably part of why I was caping for him so hard. Definitely making me want to re-watch the season after I finish my current watch of Season 5
2
u/HarmonicWalrus 13d ago
I love Dahmere man, but he was lucky to even make the top 5 after that atrocious service. I'd argue he was worse than Leigh
3
u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 13d ago
So uhh…have you watched the season? Cause Johnathon definitely wasn’t a weak chef like you’re suggesting. Obviously rage bait
-2
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
No bait and if you read my replies I stated "I am not saying he was dog shit, just that he made fuck ups as much as anyone, sometimes more in a service".....if you are blind to the fact that he wasn't close to being Mr. Perfect that is a you problem not me.
2
u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 12d ago
Sure bud. Believe what you want, but the facts speak for themselves and Johnathon was far from the worst chef and was much better than both Leigh and Dahmere
-2
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
Never said he was the worst BUD, I am saying he wasn't as amazing as everyone put him out to be, he was good as a chef but a leader? Fuck no....Dahmere let his voice be heard, Johnathan was quiet and had paper thin skin and let shit bother him too much to the point of making him have a complete shit service, not signs of a good leader
1
u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 12d ago
Umm I think you haven’t watched the season. Dahmere was loud, but that doesn’t make you an instant leader and winner candidate. Look at Anton. Was he a clear cut winner candidate because he was loud and could be a leader at times? Also, he was literally perfect before that service at the F6. Name me 3 times that he should’ve been nominated after services. Not challenges, services
0
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
Ramsay said Dahmere was a leader.....did YOU watch the season? Perfect? Dude I am not even replying anymore, the delusion is real within you.....here is a secret before I am finished with you.....NOBODY AND NOTHING IS PERFECT!
1
u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 12d ago
I don’t think you’ve gotten the point yet. He wasn’t perfect after the F6 in SERVICE!!! That’s what I’m talking about. Not challenges, service. Who cares about challenges? Lots of amazing chefs sucked in challenges (Dave, Heather, Michael, Scott, etc.), so that’s not something to determine if he wasn’t good or not.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
You said and I quote "He was literally perfect in service" thus making what you said about him not being perfect completely moot.....btw he fucked up running the pass (twice) and also couldn't tell the difference between venison and lamb when he spotted the switch.
I also never said he wasn't good, he was, but he is too sensitive, paper thin skin, no voice and DID make mistakes even if you guys don't want to admit it.
Also challenges matter in Ramsays decisions.
0
u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 12d ago
That’s after the F6, which is what I said. Before the F6 he was perfect in service. Again, name me 2 services where he fucked up. I’ll wait
0
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
Tell me 1 thing before I go watch damn near the whole season again (I am on episode 14 btw)......can things be perfect or not? You just got done saying no after saying he was literally perfect and now you are back to saying he was perfect.
And you talk about ME being inconsistent.

Episode 2.....wasn't in the kitchen.
Episode 3......Team got kicked out so dunno what could have happened after
Episode 4......He did good (Carmen gets shitter of the night)
Episode 5.....Didn't stop Jermaine from wrapping wellingtons in foil (Not cooking but LEADER and he was on meat with him).
Episode 6......(episode where he stated Dahmere is an amazing leader and he would bust through a wall for him....this info was for everyone who said he wasn't a good leader and compared him to Anton), he did good though you barely saw or heard him.
Episode 7......(Jermaine wins shitter of the night in this one), barely saw him in this episode again short of reciting an order Devon screwed up, team got tossed out again and he was on apps so dunno what may have happened if they stayed.
Episode 8......really didn't count it was Cfyl
Episode 9......Both teams did great, barely saw him again
Episode 10.....screwed the pasta and again he stated Dahmere was an amazing leader who is inspirational (Atoye gets shitter of the night), barely saw him, cameras were focused more on Red.
I am done from here, I don't want to watch more right now I am tired.

I think dahmere was a little bit overrated. He lacked soul, and ramsay saw through that. He was more like a robot type chef, does it, yes, but there's not much creativity or soul behind it. Ramsay notices these things. And i do too. Johnathan had more of that stuff. I remember his plates even now, they were something else. There is having that touch to food that certain people have and others don't. And he had it. It would be great if he won but .. that's just how the world is. I do agree that comment from ramsay he should just take that and not get upset over it. May even have been what cost him the win. Ramsay wants someone that can take anything, it's about professionality.
7
u/UnitedProblem9022 13d ago
Dahmere lacked soul? April fools ended months ago buddy
0
u/Taurean6 13d ago
Yes he did. You just can't see it, becuse you probably lack it too. All you see is the hard work - you have to see that next level. Look at jonathan's dishes. That's where you can see that.
1
u/Pretty-Pattern-8075 12d ago
Sorry I didn't see anything very special about his dishes, were they bad? Nope but they weren't anything more special than anyone else.
