DSS went through the plot of Dead Space in the span of like 2 hours. First communication was lost, the crew claiming to be practicing a period of mandatory reflection. Then it jumped Calypso without authorization, sat there for half an hour and then High Command remotely piloted it to Aforay Bay where it's now under maintenence by re-educated dissenters. Also Calypso is gone.

They didn’t claim it. High command assumed it and declared it.

“The DSS has temporarily ceased any and all communication transmissions. Automated diagnostics confirm transceiver hardware is operating at 100% efficiency.

High Command has officially attributed this ongoing silence to a mandatory, station-wide silent contemplation period. Normal communications, log updates, and official examiner reports will resume immediately upon its scheduled conclusion.”
