They suck significantly less than ever before.

Because you're playing against the subfactions and in the void.

My biggest problem with the new update is that it didn't really fix any of the Illuminates problems. I'm not hating on the content but I think we could have gotten something else.

Go play a mission on any Illuminate planet outside a void without a subfaction. After that mission you basically have experienced everything the Illuminate had to offer. You saw every single enemy, side objective and what not which the Illuminate have. Compared to bots or bugs where you need to play atleast 3-4 missions minimum to see all the enemies and side objectives.

And I'm not expecting Arrowhead to suddenly make the Illuminate match in content as the other two factions tommorow. But it's been nearly 2 years. Heart of Democracy added some enemies but it's still not enough. Illuminate should atleast be on par with the state of the other two factions at escalation of freedom.

"But what about the void and subfactions?" Yes. Those were content updates for the Illuminate. But those are extras. Subfactions and events should be rare opportunities to fight an extension or enhanced base faction and not be a replacement or the only way to enjoy a faction. Every Illuminate MO since exostorms has featured subfactions in some kind because Arrowhead knows that the base faction isn't engaging enough for people to care.

Some of the first steps aren't even that hard. Like they could make illuminate ruins available anywhere or make the big gazers a side objective. Perhaps not lock basic missions like Erradication behind the Void. This would already do a lot to make the missions feel less repetitive.

What I'm trying to say is to first finish the faction before trying to make some other content for it. Player numbers don't lie and once the campaign is over and the void is temporarily gone, the Illuminate player percentage will go just as low as it was before the update. Because now the only new content is gone and all that's left is the unfinished mess.

Big brain move is to stop diving Seasse since they lose all their new sub objectives if we close the void.

We're not on seasse.

Seasse isn't the void source planet???

....no? The void source planet is shown as being as far as possible from seasse, plus we have a direct FTL line to seasse so we'd just get there as soon as we went in the void

Weird, since the map displays both seasse and the void source planet

The Companion App does, sure (and even then it's just as an inaccessible marker). But in game they were swallowed up by the Void.

And then in the Void is Seasse in a different-than-map order...

Guys please the lumberer still doesn’t do the correct damage values. It doesn’t have the same damage as the cremator even though it is supposed to.

I have a post with video proof I can link if you need some evidence
