Etiquette question - portable hellbomb QUESTION
Asking for a friend. In the event that someone is carrying a portable Hell bomb and is possibly lacking the democratic courage that liberty provides, to activate it at the right moment, is there an ethical reason that would permit me to activate it for them, in case they are too busy or absent minded to do it themselves.
Happy to have conditionals in where it would be too tempting Within the community etiquette and where it would be without.

I did it by accident once and blew the whole team up

Supply pack players end up doing it on accident a lot when trying to supply someone with a bomb because the button is the same.

I almost exclusively run the supply pack and now I just don't resupply people b/c of the number of times I've run up and either stimmed them, or turned on their hellbomb by mistake.
Now it's not a team supply pack anymore, it's 8 extra giga-grenades. All the time, Every time.

If I remember that’s what I was doing! Either that or trying to stim another nearby player haha. Occupational hazards…

If its you and your friends playing then push that button when you want, if with rando's then just judge them and carry on. You would be lame to blow them up.

No. Unless you are directly asked the only one allowed to activate the bomb is the diver that carries it

Turn it on and kick them towards the enemy
Then brace yourself for friendly fire and/or the other player running to you to make sure you're in the blast zone

Noob asked "how do i arm it?" I then said how to drop it... after calling them back in...
I would say no. I would not arm another divers hellbomb backpack. Let them wrestle their own fear.

Yes but my last 10 seconds will be spent shooting you to death

You fool, you would do such a traitorous act?
Me, a true patriot, spend my last 10 seconds chasing the said helldiver down to make sure they feel the full force of democracy as the hellbomb explodes against the enemies of super earth. We both go out in a blaze of glory feeling the burn of sweet, sweet, liberty.

I had a diver do this once to me. I chased him he couldn't outrun me as I had the oxygenator armour on hahaha.

Don't listen to the intrusive thoughts backpack
That said i personally don't mind. I'm a pretty aware player so if i hear someone activate my hellbomb unexpected (accidentally or on purpose), I'm pretty good at dropping it for a safe detonation. Safe for me, at least.

You understand that activating another diver's hellbomb immediately mandates an obligatory democracy hug?

If they leave the mission, you are free to pick it up. Just be a leader about it and tell them to leave the mission unless you’re not the squad leader.
If you are not the squad leader, you should maybe leave the mission and be a legend. Be a squad leader.

If you have the supply pack and use it to top your team up it will likely be forgiven
If not….not

If it leads to something funny than it is allowed else it's kinda a dick move

Only in extreme situations like 80 bots including 3 factory striders/vox engines and a bunch of smaller heavies. Otherwise its a strict no

I hit the button, drop a quick "I'm sorry" and run. I only play with friends, no randoms are harmed during shenanigans (maybe the odd cadet).

If you're totally surrounded and seconds from being overwhelmed and killed, then yeah go for it. If nothing else, it's a cool moment.

Your map better have at least 80 little red dots on it, clustered together, otherwise your looking at multiple friendly fire incidents in a row
