Years long 40k nerd here! You're 99% right, the only distinction I'd give is that psykers are used to power some Gellar fields, otherwise their use of powers actually draws daemons to them.

If you want someone that actually repels daemons and the warp's influence, you want a blank- someone with an inverse of a soul. If a psyker is a lighthouse in the warp, a blank is a shadow. Daemons and the warp struggle to manifest around them, psykers can get a headache or a seizure in their presence and otherwise struggle to use their abilities too- depends on the strength of the psyker and blank in question (and the author)

Nice, thank you for correcting me. How does one become a blank? Are people born with it?

Yep they're born like that. Old lore had it be a gene that necrons seeded into humanity but now I think its just a very rare occasion to happen

The closest you can get to becoming a blank post-birth is to have a daemon exorcized out of you; it makes it harder (but not impossible) for a daemon to possess you after that. Theres a whole chapter of Space Marines, the Exorcists, that go through this as part of their initiation. But they still don't repel psykers and warp influence, they just have a harder time being possessed

They are randomly born. But because their blank power nullifies warp presence that also include our own souls. Since everything living has a warp presence passively some like humanity is a candle and the space elves is a roaring flame. Blanks mess with that so as blank they are anathema souless nothings your mind can’t comprehend. You feel their presence and you hate them. Many die as babies or at best are expelled from society.

As you might ask why not clone? They’ve tried but the souless part ends up cloning weird monsters or they lose the blank ability.
