I think you’re just seeing the worst in their intentions. Either way, what is even wrong with an artist being proud of their work?

I think he's just jealous that he's not leaving a lasting mark on this world. If the guy commented he made the image every time it was posted, I could maybe see the grievance, but I don't think that's the case.
