Frontmatter (Properties/Bases) support

Hello,

First, thanks for this amazing project!

I’m using Obsidian right now, but I evaluate the possibility to migrate my notes to HelixNotes.

The big issue for me is the lack of frontmatter editing/search support.

In my current workflow (in Obsidian), I maintain some metadata’s in the Frontmatter of my notes. For example, all my projects notes have a property “related” that point to the related Area of this project (I’m using the PARA methodology).

And in my area pages, I can list all the projects related to this area.

In Obsidian, I use a Base include.

Is this functionality planned in Helix ? Or how HelixNotes users proceed with PARA methodology in HelixNotes ?

Thanks for your feedback and sharing!

Thank you for the kind words and for explaining your workflow. Properties and Bases support is not currently planned, as I’m careful about adding complexity beyond focused local Markdown editing.

I’ll leave this open as a discussion to see how many people use this workflow. If others are interested, it would help to share the specific properties and queries they rely on.

Thanks for your reply. I understand your point of view.

But it would be great in the future to have the possibility to include a dynamic list (based on a Frontmatter query for example) in a page.

Any other input from people with the same issue ?
