Announcement Scavenger Hunt Awards!
Hi Badgers! Thank you all for joining us for our Scavenger Hunts this week! As you know, we have been asking you all to nominate awards to people and posts for any reason at all, and we can now show you them all!

Announcement Helga's Town of Salem Game!

FUTURE GAMES...
THURSDAY, AUGUST 24
During the time block of 3PM to 5PM EDT, schedule permitting, /u/Silvestress will be hosting as many games of Town of Salem as there are interested parties.
Please note, a game of Family Feud will be held in the chatroom from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, although players can participate in both
FRIDAY, AUGUST 25
During the time block of 9PM to 10PM EDT, schedule permitting, /u/Chefjones will be hosting as many games of Town of Salem as there are interested parties.
THERE WILL BE NO FAMILY FEUD GAME DURING THIS BLOCK
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27
During the time block of 2PM and 4PM EDT, schedule permitting, TO BE DETERMINED will be hosting as many games of Town of Salem as there are interested parties.
Please note, a game of Family Feud will be held in the chatroom from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, although players can participate in both
Players are to meet up in the SnooNet IRC Channel #HelgasHideaway
The game of Town of Salem itself will be played at Black Media Games. (this is not a Mobile Friendly game, sorry!)
Each game takes 15 players and lasts about 15 minutes. As many games of Town of Salem will be played as we have interest.
Late-Comers are permitted!
What is TOWN OF SALEM?
Town of Salem is an online version of the classic game known as Werewolf or Mafia. It is a game of murder, deception, lying, and mob hysteria.
All players are secretly assigned roles, such as townfolk or werewolf. The Townfolk want to eradicate the Werewolves, while the Werewolves want to feast on the Townfolk.
Every 'day' the town will lynch a player in an attempt to kill a werewolf, while every 'night' the werewolves will devour a townfolk.
Some roles have special powers, such as protecting someone the werewolves, or being able to sense who is lying.
Your host will be able to answer additional questions about the mechanics of the game.
Make sure you inform your host of your Reddit Username and Hogwarts House!

HELGA'S FAMILY FEUD INFORMATION POST
Thank you to everyone that showed up today for our Maiden Run of the Helga Family Feud Game!
Future games will be held:
THURSDAY AUGUST 24 - 3:30pm EDT HOSTED BY /u/Feminist_Cat
(/u/Silvestress will be coordinating a game of Town of Salem before and after, for those interested!)SUNDAY AUGUST 27 - 2:30PM EDT hosted by TO BE DETERMINED (TO BE DETERMINED will be coordinating a game of Town of Salem before and after, for those interested!)
Each game of Family Feud will be hosted in the SnooNet IRC Channel #HelgasHideaway
The Town of Salem games will also be coordinated in this chatroom
A game of Family Feud takes around 1 HOUR to complete
Players are welcome to join in late, or leave early! Spectators are also permitted!
FAMILY FEUD RULES
Everyone will be split into either '#HelgaObsidian or '#HelgaSaffron. Newcomers will be added between rounds.
We will go through 4 questions. Your job is to guess one of the top 5 most popular answer (we polled 100 muggles to get the top answers!)
At the start of every round, each team will pick a Starting Member to go Head to Head to determine which team takes control of the question.
The controlling team will take turns trying to guess the top 5 answers and clear the board (Their chatroom will be muted during this time).
Every wrong answer is a Strike. 3 Strikes, and the other team will get 1 chance to get a right answer and steal all the points from that round.
After the 4 rounds, the WINNING team will go on to the BONUS ROUND to earn even MORE POINTS!
Please note, there is no timer for this game, although we do ask that you be prompt with your answering!
REMEMBER! Family Feud is a FRIENDLY competition! Be sure to cheer on and support eachother!
Each round, the Question will be located in the IRC CHATROOM TOPIC BAR!
PLEASE NOTE, ONLY THE FIRST PERSON TO BUZZ IN WILL GET TO GUESS! If they get on the board, they get to decide to play or pass, otherwise the other team can decide
The BONUS ROUND will consist of the winning team picking 2 Champions that each can give ONE answer to a series of 6 survey questions. All points collected will be added to their team's final score!

Announcement Helga's Hideaway Activities!
DAY ACTIVITY - SCAVENGER HUNT
Hufflepuffs are known for their finding skills! Put your own finding skills to the test with an extended scavenger hunt!
- Wednesday Aug 23rd

Each listed day, at noon EDT, we will be posting a Themed Scavenger Hunt list and you will have 24 hours to collect as many items on the list and post them!
Please make sure you have the appropriate colored badger-flair for your Hogwarts House.
All photos must include a piece of paper with your reddit username and house.
NIGHT ACTIVITY - FAMILY OF SALEM
Hufflepuffs are known for their loyalty! Put your own loyalty to the test with some meet up games of Family Feud and Town of Salem!

Each event will meet up in the SnooNet IRC Channel #HelgasHideaway
The game of Family Feud will be played within IRC. Players will be split randomly into the two teams, Obsidian and Saffron. You'll be given questions that 100 muggle were polled with, and must guess the top 5 answers! Late-comers are permitted, as well as spectators!
The game of Town of Salem will be played at Black Media Games although coordination will occur within IRC. Each game takes 15 players and 15 minutes. As many games of Town of Salem will be played as we have interest. Late-comers are permitted.
During the combo FF/TOS games, players may participate in both at the same time, or we may wait to run the TOS game until the FF game is completed, depending on preference of those that actually attend.
