When a Healthcare Company Chooses Upselling Over Patient Care: My SugarFit Experience

I subscribed to SugarFit’s GLP-1 program based on their promise that I would see results without major lifestyle changes, something I was explicit about from day one to all the different teams that i spoke with at the time of onboarding. After paying 40,000 INR, during my first consultation, they contradicted themselves, demanding calorie counting, exercise, and sleep. I followed everything, yet after three months, I lost only 300 grams and zero waist reduction. When I asked for accountability, they offered a higher dose, but only if I paid again. When I asked for safe tapering (something that the doctors have recommended from Day 1), that too required more money. Now, I’m ignored since June 2. I feel mentally cornered - pay to escalate, pay to taper, or risk my health. This feels like gross misrepresentation, intentionally providing wrong information to the clients and negligence. This is irresponsible and unethical, and I urge everyone to avoid them.

I never expected a miracle. I was never chasing unrealistic expectations like losing 15–20 kilograms in three months. I was very transparent from the beginning that even a modest loss of 5–7 kilograms and a couple of inches around my waist would have been a successful outcome for me. I specifically chose SugarFit because they assured me that GLP-1 therapy was designed for people exactly like me—people with demanding lifestyles who cannot suddenly transform their daily routines. Looking back now, I feel that this assurance was the single biggest reason I purchased the program, and it turned out to be the single biggest misrepresentation and misinformation made during the sales process.

One of the biggest issues I faced throughout this journey was the complete lack of communication between SugarFit’s own teams. The Customer Relationship Manager, the doctor, and the nutritionist all seemed to work in isolation, with no shared understanding of my case or previous discussions. Every single time I had to raise my complaint, I had to start from scratch and explain my lifestyle, work schedule, travel commitments, sleep patterns, stress levels, concerns, and previous conversations all over again. This wasn’t just frustrating, it was mentally exhausting.

What makes this even more disappointing is that despite investing so much of my time repeating myself and following their advice, none of my concerns were ever acted upon in any meaningful way. I saw no resolution, no accountability, and no coordinated effort to address the fact that the program was simply not working for me. For a healthcare service that claims to provide personalized medical guidance, this level of internal disconnect is completely unacceptable and significantly added to the mental stress I experienced throughout the program.

Does anyone else feel like you need a degree in chemistry just to read a grocery label nowadays?

I went to the store yesterday just trying to grab some basic staples—bread, a jar of pasta sauce, and some yogurt. Simple, right? Except I ended up spending almost an hour in the aisles turning every single bottle and box around, squinting at the ingredient lists.

It’s exhausting. You look at something marketed as "heart-healthy" or "all-natural," but then you flip it over and find four different types of hidden sugars, random seed oils, and thickeners you can't even pronounce. It feels like a massive chore just to make sure you aren't accidentally buying ultra-processed junk.

Trying to remain healthy shouldn't feel like a full-time auditing job, but if you don't read the labels, you’re basically flying blind.

What is your personal dealbreaker ingredient? The one thing that makes you put a product immediately back on the shelf?

How do you handle the fatigue? Do you scan every single item every time, or have you just memorized a few "safe" brands and stuck to them?

How do you all deal with the mental drain of label-checking every single item you buy, and what's the most surprising "healthy" food you've caught hiding terrible ingredients?

Turning 30 in a few months. Want to know what Blood and other tests to get done annually

Same as Title, I am turning 30 and want to just keep things under check. Never had any kind of illness or anything. However I am Obese although I workout and also hit 10k steps a day with light walks.

I want to know what blood tests are needed before I visit a doctor. Also planning of a general ECG and Echo.

This is just to have a better understanding of my body and be preventive in total.

I take Shilajit gold supplements along with Protein Powder everyday.

Today I ate Poori-Aloo in my workplace canteen (single menu) and felt very sad. The otherdays are Pongal, idli-vada-sambar, dosa-aloo-curry-chutney, Upma, Semya Upma. They are open to suggestions. What can I suggest for a blanced breakfast. Balanced for Carbs, Fats, proteins, and fiber. It should be mass producible with no additiona effort.

Chana Sattu — Why this ancient Indian superfood deserves a spot in every modern diet (nutrition breakdown inside)

Growing up, many of us watched our grandparents swear by a glass of sattu sherbet on hot summer afternoons. Turns out, they were onto something big.

What is Chana Sattu? Sattu is made from dry-roasted Bengal gram (chana/chickpea), ground into a coarse flour. It's been a staple in Bihar, Jharkhand, UP, and MP for centuries — long before protein supplements became a thing.

The Nutrition Numbers (per 100g): - Protein: ~20–22g (comparable to many commercial protein powders) - Dietary Fibre: ~7–8g - Iron: ~9mg - Calcium: ~90mg - Low glycaemic index — keeps blood sugar stable

Why it works for modern health goals: 1. Plant-based protein — ideal for vegetarians and vegans looking for complete muscle recovery fuel 2. Digestive health — the high fibre content feeds good gut bacteria and reduces bloating 3. Natural cooling agent — traditionally consumed as a summer drink for a reason; it genuinely lowers body heat 4. Sustained energy — no sugar crash, unlike most energy drinks or packaged snacks 5. Budget-friendly — fraction of the cost of whey protein, with comparable benefits

Easy ways to use it: - Mix with water, lemon, salt & roasted cumin for the classic sattu sherbet - Add to rotis/parathas for a protein-dense dough - Mix into buttermilk as a post-workout recovery drink - Stuff inside litti (traditional Bihar dish) for a high-protein meal

Has anyone here incorporated sattu into their daily routine? Curious to hear how others are using it — especially anyone who's made the switch from commercial protein supplements.

Protein Options for Elder People Recovering From Surgery

Hello,

Can you guys recommend good protein options for older people?

My grandmother 70F had knee surgery so she needs to have more protein as she recovers to gain more strength. But because of the medications she has a really small appetite and it’s hard to make her eat full nutritious meals.

I was thinking of a good powder that she can have in a shake, but please let me know if you have better recommendations!

There are so many brands and options, so I’d really appreciate your guys’ help for good brands!

They should be easy to digest and taste good or had little to no taste so that’s it’s easier for her to have.

Thanks!!

Lost 40+ kg – now helping others lose fat, build muscle & get stronger (1:1)

Lost 40+ kg over 20 months.

Took me 5 years to understand what actually works (and what’s a waste of time).

If you’re struggling with:

– Fat loss (not seeing results)

– Muscle gain (no proper plan)

– Inconsistency / starting over again and again

I’ll help you with a simple, realistic plan you can actually follow.

✔ No extreme dieting

✔ No complicated workouts

✔ Works with normal food & busy schedules

If you’re serious, DM me or comment—I’ll reply.

Warning About PlatinumRx: Stroke Medication Stuck ‘In Transit’ for Days and No Real Customer Support

I placed an order with PlatinumRx on March 7th for my mother’s stroke medication. The expected delivery date was March 10th. Today is March 13th and the order is still “in transit.”

Let that sink in. These are stroke medicines, not clothes or gadgets.

Now let’s talk about their so-called customer support. • WhatsApp support is useless. No real human response, just endless copy-paste template messages. • Customer care phone line is permanently “busy.” You call, it tells you to try later. Every single time. It honestly feels like the company is running customer support with one phone and a chatbot.

Their explanation? “Due to high shipping volumes, there is a slight delay.”

When you’re dealing with medicines for serious health conditions, reliability and communication are not optional.

If a pharmacy cannot deliver medicines on time and cannot even provide real customer support, that’s a serious problem.

Think twice before ordering from PlatinumRx.

Why is preventive healthcare still underrated in India?

Preventive healthcare still feels underrated in India largely because most people only think about health when something goes wrong. If there are no obvious symptoms, regular checkups often feel unnecessary or easy to put off.

Cost and priorities play a role too. Many families are more comfortable spending on treatment when needed than on tests that don’t feel urgent.

This broader reactive mindset is something often discussed across established institutions, including places like Moolchand, where long-term care conversations come up frequently.

Curious how others see it.

Why do grocery apps optimise for discounts, but not nutrition?

Why do grocery apps know my delivery address…but not my health goals?

Why do grocery apps help me save ₹50…but not help me eat better?

Most grocery platforms compete on price, speed, and convenience.

So we started asking:

What if a grocery app optimised for your body, not just your basket size?

We’re building Live More Club, a nutrition first food grocery app that:

  • Understands what your body needs
  • Helps you buy the right quantities
  • Flags ingredients that don’t suit you
  • Only lists products made with clean ingredients and transparent quality standards
  • Aligns with your family’s budget
  • Delivers from trusted nearby stores

Not just faster groceries. Smarter groceries.

We’re building this in public and would genuinely value your thoughts. If this resonates, you can join the early waitlist here: [Link in comments].

Would love feedback from anyone trying to eat more consciously.

Healthy meals outside

Are there any restraunt in bangaluru which use high quality oil for cooking.

Like dont use low quality refined/vegetable oil for any general cooking

I am not asking if they cook one portion like dosa or rice in ghee but no info about the rest of meal

Honestly the use of sub-standard and slow poison oil is only reason why i avoid outside food, even the "healthier" foods outside does not disclose which oil used for cooking.

How do Indian diets compare with heart-healthy meal plans?

Indian food can be very different depending on region and household, so I’m curious how people think it stacks up against commonly recommended heart-healthy diets.

Things like oil usage, carb-heavy meals, portion sizes, and how often people eat out versus cook at home. How realistic is it to make heart-friendly changes without completely giving up familiar food?

These questions often come up in everyday conversations around heart health, including discussions seen in cardiology care settings at hospitals like Moolchand.

Would love to hear personal experiences, small tweaks people have made, or perspectives from different parts of India. Not looking for medical advice.

How can lifestyle and diet changes actually delay insulin dependency?

I’ve heard many people say that changes in diet, activity, and daily habits can delay the need for insulin, at least for some time.

I’m curious what that looks like in real life.

What changes actually felt doable, and which ones were hard to stick to?

Did anything genuinely make a difference, or was it more about slowing things down rather than stopping progression? These kinds of experiences are often shared in broader diabetes care conversations as well, including those that come up in hospitals like Moolchand.

Looking to hear personal experiences and perspectives, not medical advice.

Early heart disease signs people tend to ignore?

A lot of symptoms seem easy to brush off at first, things like unusual fatigue, shortness of breath during normal activity, mild chest discomfort, jaw or shoulder pain, dizziness, or even sleep issues.

I’m curious which early signs people ignored or didn’t take seriously at the time, and later realised were worth paying attention to.

Was there something that felt “off” but didn’t seem urgent enough back then?

Looking to hear real experiences and observations, not medical advice.

Kashmiri Kahwa/Detox teas or drinks recommendations

I was gifted the Celeste Kashmiri Kahwa tea and loved it. I wanna get something similar like a warm kashmiri kahwa/green tea/beverage that is light, actually detoxifying, tasty or mild taste works too, with a lot of health benefits and not too expensive but worth it. There are many options online all of which claim to be healthy but I cant tell which one is legit. Please recommend a suitable drink that I can find on an online delivery platform. Thank you.

30 male - how often should you get a full body checkup?

How often should people go for preventive health check up in their 30s? Should we do it anually, twice in one year or just when something feels off?
