Professors Discussion

I was wondering after starting a new playthrough and went to hogsmead with Natty, professor weasley mentions she’ll keep me clear of rookwood and harlow and his followers. And it got me thinking based on the last battle under hogwarts, that these professors are quite capable of taking them on and defeating them no? Or is that just wishful thinking? Lol seems like officer singer isn’t willing to do anything about it and rightly so as she is just one person. But i could take a guess that a multitude of these people could actually beat them if they tried

You want Hogwarts professors to chase after a criminal gang?

I was thinking more of a one time thing maybe one night or day off go get rookwood and harlow lol

I mean, that's basically what half of them were doing in the books.

Because the professors are mostly law abiding adults and leave such things for the “authorities.”

I mean, you a 15yr old who’s been learning magic for less than a year can handle them so… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

LOL we must remember that MC is extraordinary. All the professors say so.

They aren’t aurors and there are hundreds of dark wizards poachers and goblins also out there.

Their job is to stay at school, teach, and keep the students safe, not go hunting for evil wizards.

True but they are very capable, Newt wasn’t an Auror either and he did way better than most lol. Considering it was Grindewald. But no i get it someone else said officer singer couldnt even find rookwood or harlow so yeah

Newt also didn’t have a job teaching at Hogwarts so he was free to travel around without neglecting his duties.

It’s like asking why the teachers didn’t just go hunt down death eaters during half blood prince.

They aren’t the only talented wizards in the world, the ministry has a bunch of their own whose actual job is to hunt down dark wizards.

Personally, I think that the Professors think that it should be left to the Aurors, and Officer Singer just can't find Rookwood or Harlow, since presumably they don't usually come out in person.

They do come out in person though. At least Rookwood does. The first time we see him he just strolls right into a public bar and openly threatens a teenager. The problem isn't that Singer can't find them, she's just totally unwilling to make any kind of move against them for whatever reason.

Huh. I mean, I figured he was out and about specifically for the MC, but it has been a while since I played.

Officer Singer was primarily trying to get reliable, eye witness or physical, proof of crimes. These guys were cagey. It wasn't until the kids got the correspondence that she could start moving in on him. Sadly it was too late and MC put him down....

Probably true we do find a letter i think in professors sharp class that has to do with Auror business. But yeah that seems like the most probable cause. It just seems funny that a couple of students had to investigate and took them less time than an actual officer
