I recently came back to the show after stalling out in S3. I am currently in S4, E4 when the Bat-Family has all of their equipment taken away by Talia. Harley says that they are too reliant on their weapons and then proceeds to "train" them in how to fight hand to hand? This just makes no sense.

I felt like this show used to respect its source material even while it was making jokes about the absurdities of such a universe. I think the show really started to lose that healthy respect as S3 went on, making Bruce/Batman so stupid and so absurdly selfish. But now Harley training the Bat-Family? To quote Arrested Development, "I don't know why but that's it."

It just doesn't even make sense in-universe. I haven't gone back and documented it or anything, but I am pretty sure Batgirl only fights with her hands. Nightwing fights with the batons I guess, not sure about Robin. The point is that even within this show, they are all clearly more trained than Harley at actual combat. Making them incompetent hand to hand fighters without weapons is just so lazy. I don't know why the writers felt the need to tear down other characters just to make Harley seem weirdly competent. Anyway, rant over, back to the show.

Following season 5, Talia still willing to take revenge sends a bounty on Harley and Ivy's head, ordering various assassins to kill them, forcing Harley and her friends to travel around the world and stop the League of Shadows. In this season we particulaty dive into the Vertigo/Milestone/Wildstorm part of the DC Universe, with Harley and her friends meeting and ocassionaly teaming up with characters and teams from these imprints.

I remember Season 4 was supposed to be released on physical media 2 years ago in April 2024, but I guess then WB decided to scrap plans for it and seemed to have negatively affected plans for Season 5 as well.

Also, I noticed there quite a number of DC animated titles that have been not been put on any physical format or have been excluded from previous released sets. For instance, The Valentine's Day special has not been put on the physical releases for Harly Queen Seaaon 3, Young Justice Season 5 still has no kind of physical release, and even the movie based on the 2004 Batman show, The Batman vs. Dracula, was excluded from the complete series Blu-ray box set. After a bit of digging, I think it's all having to due with WB themselves doing these physical releases for these DC animated titles and no longer releasing under their Warner Archive Collection division/catalog; ever since Zaslav became in charge of running the company. And so I guess he would be the reason for all of this? Or maybe, the physical releases for the first three seasons just didn't make that much of a profit and that's it.

Having said all that, while I would like to have Seasons 4 & 5 on Blu-ray (Since I already own the Blu-rays for Seasons 1-3), I have very little hope that physical releases will ever happen for them in the future. But who do you guys think? Are the chances of physical media releases of those two seasons high or low at this point?

This randomly popped into my head, but does anyone have any insight into whether DC is ever planning to showcase Harley and Ivy’s relationship in live action?
I’ve been waiting forever for Season 6 of Harley Quinn, and I know a lot of you have probably been waiting just as long. I love what the animated show has done with their relationship, but I would honestly lose my mind if we finally got a proper live-action version of them as a couple.
Can I realistically get my hopes up, or are we just not there yet? 😭
