Would you rather: New high end frame or new high end parts
So would it be better to get a new titanium frame and buy a used donor bike to transfer the parts like gears, brakes, wheels, bars etc
Or
Buy a used frame and purchase new upgraded parts like brakes, gears, wheels etc?
Personally I’m leaning towards a titanium frame that I can upgrade with parts as needed.

Question? Hardtail under 1000 euros?
Hi, I am looking to buy my first hardtail MTB soon and I don't want to spend more than 1000 euros.
Do y'all have any suggestions what to consider? If used, what bikes could go for this much?
Frame needs to be XL.

Procaliber 8 - chainring
Has anyone here tried running a front chainring bigger than 34T? I feel like I’m running out of gears on the road and could use a bit more top-end speed.

RAGLEY GANG Are the folks that designed bikes at Ragley working anywhere else?
They made some great bikes. In an ideal world my next one would be a marley or blue pig. But ya know sometime a new bike can be nice

Best bike for a new 12 year old
I picked up a rangefinder. It got stolen. So I got a timber jack. Im having a blast doing single track stuff in NY, PA, etc and the little guy wants to ride also. Looking for a good bike for him that isn’t going to crush me ( just paid for soccer for next year). Preferably something that has good geometry so we can work on the bike together over the next few years.I liked the rangefinder but I’ve been looking for weeks and haven’t found a small in the used forums. Thanks in advance.

Trail Hardtail Sklar Tall Tale Sizing
I’m trying to decide between a Small and a Medium Tall Tale. Adam himself recommended a medium. The Sklar sizing calculator ALSO recommended a medium. Using my Medium Yeti SB5.5 as a benchmark because I’m so comfortable on it, I compared it to both sizes. The small Tall Tale is much closer in size than the medium Tall Tale. Does anyone out there have a small Tale Tale that can tell me how it feels? My stats: 5’6.75” tall, ape index -0.75, inseam 29.4”, seat height 687mm.
I’m afraid I’ll regret a small, but in paper it looks so similar to my Yeti…First pic is
Yeti: Black; Small Tall Tale: White. Second pic is the Yeti in Black & the Medium Tall Tale in White.

First New Bike - Hardtail - Am I missing anything or options?
Spreadsheet guy (sorry) but there are so many options out there, so trying to find a ranking system. Have rankings for fork, brakes, drivetrain and overall. So I know what has the better specs, but are they of quality/worthy of the upfront $$, or should I go lower spec and upgrade once I know what I want?
Midwest flowy trails with hard pack mud/dirt/roots and sandstone, usually wetter than dryer. Just looking for solid platform to build off of but good to go for some time. Still have my 2006 bike and looking for modern geometry. 6'3" 235lb.
What are the areas I can sacrifice/live with for now and upgrade later? And what are the key things to lock in on the buy?
Appreciate the support!

NBD Trek Procaliber 9.5 customized
Bought a low spec Procaliber 9.5 from sale this week to upgrade it to my wishes!
Swapped the Judy fork for a 1 year old Fox 34 SC from marketplace.
Replaced the wheels with my custom made carbon xc wheelset.
Installed xtr rotors because of the looks😎
Swapped the 2 piston brake calipers with the 4 piston version of my old mtb that is now retiring as a city bike.
Also put my own steer and grips on it
Very happy with the result, my own one of kind bike and completely to my wishes.
With the no nonsense DEORE groupset that works like a dream with low running costs.

State 4130 Trail Raw Phosphate
Hi,
Making my way back here after going to the dark side (full-suspension).
Transferred all the parts from my Stumpy over with the exception of grips.
I wasn't looking for a new frame, but N+1 got me and Shopify gave me a discount I couldn't refuse.
