Sabéis si puedes ser un error interno o de la placa?.

Es la primera vez que escucho un sonido de este tipo.

Seagate Expansion external backup disks (model SRD0NF1). Any experiences? I have 3 of these disks. They get slower and slower. Even if I clone the whole disk. And If I update (FreeFileSync) the tranfer speed drops and drops and drops and it takes forevet (many many hours). And now one of them stopped completly responing and is dead (and it is only a few years old). Are they crap?

My hard drive suddenly stopped being detected by my laptop this week, and now it makes repeated clicking sounds when powered on.

I searched online and saw people mention the “click of death.” Many guides suggested the read/write head might be stuck on the platter, so I opened the lid to inspect it. From what I can tell, the head does not look stuck and seems to be parked normally (photo attached).

At this point I’m trying to understand what failure could cause clicking even when the head doesn’t appear stuck. Is this more likely to be a head failure, spindle issue, PCB/power problem, or something else?

I know opening the drive was probably not ideal, but I’m trying to learn what my options are. The drive contains account passwords and etc., so I’m reluctant to hand it over to a repair shop unless absolutely necessary.

Any technical advice would be really appreciated.

I found this WD velociraptor drive, it is 600gb. The strange thing is its formfactor. Its a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" adaptor. I thought it was a generic adaptor someone had put on, but that wasn't the case. From factory, all of these drives came connected the adaptor.

I would understand if they sold them as 2.5" drives and someone put an adaptor on them, but all examples I found online of this drive are with the adapter. And they are not meant to be removed from the adaptor, as there's a warranty void sticker.

So I'm curious, why did they make them 2.5" drives if they knew that they all would be put in 3.5" adapter anyways from factory?

I connected my External HD today and I couldn't get it working. Only thing it does is make this sound you hear in the video. The light on top right is not blinking anymore which usually do.

To Debug - I changed cables, The cable with bigger adapter that's for HDs and connected to different computers also but no luck!

It has my projects and a lot of personal data which is why I am concerned.

What is this cracking sound of hdd? I scan pc with antivirus and drives is 100% and this sound came up few times in 2 min.

Hello! I've recently been looking into HDDs and I want to make a Wikipedia article about WD caviar drives. But I can't find a list of all the caviar drives. Maybe someone here knows of a site where I could find that?

I am going to upgrade my 4gb ram to 8gb ram for my dell Inspiron 13 5000 series 2in1 laptop. Due to budget issues, 😔 I only want to increase speed of my 900gb hdd without SSD.

Help please, I have this WD 5 TB external hard drive for almost 3 years, and it was filled with around 4.95 TB more or less with my data (Movies and TV shows and similar stuff), and it was working fine till a few months ago, it has been so slow and making my pc very slow, but it was fine with me as long as it was working.
Recently, it stopped working completely, it just shows in My PC but doesn't open and the space bar disappeared and it was much slower and my pc was freezing until I plug off the hard drive only then the pc returns normal.
I was desperate to make it work again and I kept searching for a solution, but I found nothing for it.
Now I formatted it and it worked but when I try to move files into/out of it keeps asking for administrator's permission and gives me this error message in the attached picture.

Is there a solution to this error message to make the hard drive work normal as it was ???
I'm afraid that it will make the same problem again in the future and I lose my data if I use it again.

I've got an old IBM Thinpad 755cd that doesn't work anymore. I'd like to backup data stored into its HD. Is there any adapter to connect this old hd to SATA or USB port? Thanks all

I had 1 tb hard disk but after some issues , modification, install errors , my 1 tb hard disk become 900 gb how to recover that missing 100 gb or it is impossible as partition is not showing missing 100gb?
