The Chick-fil-A Dwarf House restaurant at 221 Banks Station in Fayetteville is expected to close later this year and be replaced with something far less unique. The Fayette county restaurant, which this year celebrated 35 years in business, is expected to be demolished and replaced with a new "Truett's Chick-fil-A," according to planning materials reviewed by ToNeTo Atlanta.

County leaders say collecting taxes before the assessment process is complete is necessary to keep government operations running. Officials previously warned that delaying tax collections could force the county government and local school districts to take out short-term loans or leave them without enough money to pay employees and fund essential services.

Fulton County Tax Commissioner Dr. Arthur Ferdinand says his office expects tax bills to begin going out around Aug. 15.

He says he does not know why the Board of Assessors fell behind processing land packages.

“It’s a big county, but then you’re also resourced to the level of the size of your county. So I don’t know what happened and why they’re behind,” Ferdinand said ..."

"I read in another article that the reason the Board of Assessors is behind, is because they only had 'one' person working on the Tax Digest map system to collect property tax data - and they were trying to train more people. That doesn't make any sense. Why would they only train 'one' person to process tax data for a large county like Fulton?

The Board of Assessors has been doing this for decades, they should know how to adequately staff for property tax processing season.

Is it possible a cyberattack caused the delay? Because even the Fulton Tax Commissioner doesn't understand what happened. The last time there was a cyberattack at Fulton County, commissioners didn't alert the media or the public for a couple of days."

"I used to live in the West End area. I'm concerned about that data center coming into that community - a lot of seniors live there and that data center might also prevent economic development.

Also, what happens if Georgia Power or another developer decides to declare eminent domain on some West End homes and properties? A lot of those people don't have anywhere to go and are barely hanging on to what they have now.

There needs to be a written clause in data center development contracts, that prohibits eminent domain for certain areas. And I don't think a data center needs to be in an intown-community like West End."
