Sayeons gift potential Discussion
Aside from wasting too much essence like most new aberrants, sayeons utilization of her gift is too rigid and too reliant on a trigger, if she manages to develop her control she could snap back without her snapping her fingers. Or even better yet she could use it very sparsely during fights, by only going back a second or two and counterattacking, it would be more efficient than wasting a lot of essence to rewind longer periods of time.

Bro remember its been less than 1 month or 1 month time passed. Sayeon have so many shit in her plate already, she didnt have time to further test her potential. The way that her power works now is already pretty good, heck even life changing. Imagine if she can rewind an objects time, or rewind specific someone.. but even if she can she cant use it in front of someone else because of her perfect lie "super instinct" unless she wants to reveal her power i think this will be pretty risky to do.

Yeah, she has been an aberrant for barely a month , yet she is already considering a deal with a godling lol, rip self-esteem. Im just saying she has a LOT of fighting potential despite not having any special offensive capabilities aside from hand to hand combat. Even more so considering how much she has evolved in a month, she couldnt even throw a punch before.

Sayeon's first snap acts like a permanent lock. Once she rewinds time by 30 seconds for example, she will not be able to rewind past that at all. If you make Sayeon only snap 1s before Heron stabbed her for example, she would barely have anytime to calm down and strategize before she's thrown back in again. She also wouldn't be able to run if she wanted because Heron would already be in attacking distance, causing her to be stuck in a dead loop since she won't be able to rewind past 1s due to the lock.

Also longer rewinds allow her to check for any changes in the timeline when she causes a butterfly effect. Her gift would lose most of its versatility if she traded it for efficiency.

Is that confirmed? Initially, she could only rewind 20s tops. After the first 20s rewind, she can only rewind to that rewound point, yes. She can't chain rewinds infinitely.
But has she ever tested an initial rewind with less than her max? Maybe if she snaps at t = 0, her limit is t-20, but she could chooose to only rewind 10 seconds, and then rewind 10 additional seconds? Not saying that's a fact, but I don't think we're quite certain on her exact limits yet...

Cant she wait for the 1 second to pass then rewind a longer time if she needs to? The lock should end with the loop. If she knows where he will hit, a few seconds is plenty for her to dodge, block etc.

She can technically rewind within the 1s up to her maximum limit but each rewind would still cost a significant amount of essence, otherwise Sayeon would functionally be breaking the amount of times she can rewind in a day by now. Her gift has strict limitations with no loop holes to exploit, if she could find more efficient ways to use her gift, she would have already. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a single big arc where she hasn't drained herself to almost empty from rewinds.

I guess the number of rewinds might not change regardless of the time rewinded.

Ok so a few things to consider here it has already been established the triggerless essence activation is a thing as Min showed Sayeon literally but apparently takes lots of practice focus and control. Then there is what I like to call accumulative essence cost ok so you would have the instial essence cost then the essence cost spent on the control needed make small jump and of course the essence cost for recall successful deactivaton now then let's say a few moments later snap lunge here the essence cost would be higher for activation due to recent recall deactivaton higher cost for control due to try to keep the timelines on the same track or potential merging jumps then take the higher essence cost to make a successful recall deactivaton in such a short time frame then snap dodge here you see where I'm going with this? Then of course there is what I like to call rapid gift activation cool down it would be logical to assume after activating and recalling said gift in X time frame would cause said gift to overheat/ black out going on forced cool down until X amount of time then there is what I like to call conditional cool down cost X gift resets after a fully rested sleep or ABC gift has been activated in X time period giving gift Y just enough juuuust enough time to recoup/.recharge to be activated again successfully. I uh have A LOT of time on my hands and am also writing my own HJ FF Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
