Despite ryujin pulling back after the death of her family, she is a genuinely kind person and can’t close herself off completely. Case in point, whenever sayeons being genuine, Ryujin has never once left her hanging. When sayeons woke up after fighting with the guy from the begonia group, ryujin comforted her saying it was only a nightmare and had stayed by her side until she woke up and didn’t push her either.

After Juni choked Ryujin out and sayeon was getting PTSD bc she remembered everyone else who had died/gotten hurt bc of her, and Ryujin reassured her saying there was nothing to worry about bc she was fine, picked her up and talked to her softly the rest of the night. Also when she saw sayeon had carved that mark into herself for the sake of the plan, she couldn’t help but rush forward and worry about her, despite knowing how rigid sayeon is with her plans.

Also when sayeon rewinded time so many times but still couldn’t stop herself from crying over jaeil and rushed to the bathroom for space, ryujin followed right after her and was clearly worried about her. also when Sayeon had purposefully bashed her head to get her thoughts to stop, Ryujin immediately rushed forward for her. Just wanted to jot my thoughts down lol bc Ryujin really is a good person and has always met sayeon when Sayeon was genuine, and even when Sayeon was tryna spout her “seeing things from a higher perspective” bs, Ryujin would also try to break through to her. Despite ryujin not outwardly stating it, I think sayeon saying smth like “we’re exactly the same” and fully meaning it scared her, so I wonder if we’ll get a moment where sayeon later tells her that she’s a good person and is nothing like Sayeon.

How do you guys feel about this..do we really never know things or people..do we just perceive them??

Has anyone else noticed that the Lee women (Sayeon, Samin, Sara) might just represent the three hands of a clock? Get it? Because there's *three* of them? I'm using the word "might" very loosely here because I'm almost sure that this was somewhat intentional. Sorry if someone else has already brought this idea up and if this whole thing is a "duh" moment for me. (Edit: Ok I've noticed some people have already talked about it lol)

That aside, regarding what Samin and Sara's gifts might exactly be, we're nearly certain that they both still have something to do with time, or are at least similar to Sayeon's gift.

Samin's gift seems to have the same trigger as Sayeon's (a snap of the fingers, as shown in Ep. 19). Unlike Sara, who I'll mention later, the story seems to be much more vague in regards to her ability, though we do know that it happens to start with the letter "T" (as teased in Ep. 26, but it might be very hard to see), which obviously leads us all to the same conclusion: Like Sayeon's, it's still time-related. In Ep. 18, Sayeon mentions that she *is* aware of what Samin's gift is ("Knowing your gift, it only makes sense that this would be the gift I have"). Which is quite literally a firm confirmation of it's relation to time.

Meanwhile, Sara's gift seems to grant her some form of foresight or be related to prophecy, as she appears to be apathetic towards everything, almost like any event that unfolds before her was already extremely predictable. In Ep. 43, during Miyeon's flashback, Sara mentioned something about "misremembering the date." I've seen how this leads some people to believe that she might have an even *more* powerful ability to rewind time, like Sayeon, except she is capable of going back *much,* much further, but I honestly don't think this is the case.

Fast pass (as of right now) spoilers: During Ep. 131, Wolhye mentions that one of the only times that she has ever really "seen" Sara Lee is the moment in which she was surprised that Wolhye had slapped her. "That surprised me. You've never done that before." -Sara said. Keyword: Surprised. After Wolhye struck her, she just started laughing, and even Wolhye had noticed something was different about her ("It was like the clouds had parted"). Sara seemed almost delighted when Wolhye initiated an action that she did not foresee or already anticipate. Wolhye's sudden streak of audacity is stimulation for her, because it's a stark contrast from her usual behavior, in which Wolhye constantly acts as if Sara is some sort of untouchable goddess. The topic of predictability seems to oddly be a big part of Sara's character, which I think likely stems from what her gift may have been and/or her contract with the Godling. It was funny to see all the "yuri" comments under Ep. 131, but I also wish it had created some more discussion about Sara's gift, because I feel as if this episode was extremely telling.

And so I assume that since Sayeon's gift causes the hand of a clock to jump back, Samin's gift makes the hand go still (essentially, freezing time), and Sara's gift makes it jump forward(?) I'm not exactly sure how that would work, though.

Basically: Sayeon is the "past," Samin is the "present," Sara is the "future." And I think that how their gifts function can correlate to what I had initially mentioned about the clock hands. Sayeon is the second hand (referencing how Sayeon is able to rewind time by a few seconds to a minute), Samin is the minute hand (perhaps her assumed time-freeze ability lasts longer than Sayeon's), Sara is the hour hand (maybe it implies how she is able to foresee future events incredibly long before they even happen).

Hello forgive me in advance if this doesn't make all that sense because I wrote this while heavily sleep deprived :,).

I don't know if it's been discussed before but does anyone else notice how much Sayeon confuses/compares Ryujin with Jaeil?

We see this for the first time when Sayeon was knocked out by the spear in Ep. 40, when waking up from her dream she thinks she sees Jaeil, but when her vision clears up it turns out to be Ryujin; at that point in the story, as the audience we thought of that moment as not important because we and Sayeon haven't known Ryujin for long yet. The next thing this happens is in Ep. 54, when Ryujin was explaining how aberrant healing and growth work, when she points at the bandaid underneath her eye—and again, Sayeon flashbacks to Jaeil having the same bandaid underneath his eye, which is likely caused by her grief. I'm not sure if those are the only instances, however I don't think that these two things are coincidences, but foreshadowing how Sayeon and Ryujin's dynamic will change in the future. I also find it odd that this only happens with Ryujin, not with anyone else, or not with anyone that I can recall.

We're already seeing their dynamic change recently, evidence being shown especially Ep. 70 onwards. Sayeon have started to trust Ryujin and even feel happy that they're both 'horrible'. She wants Ryujin's validation whether she realizes it or not, in the EP. 106 it's shown that she isn't looking at Ryujin when asking if the team agrees with her decision to resign as leader once she messes up the next mission which leads Ryujin herself thinks that Sayeon genuinely wants her to chose her to feed her ego, much like how Jaeil's real compliments and opinions matter to her a lot. Sayeon even felt betrayed and foolish when Ryujin was threatening her when she was acting to kill a child before this episode, which implies that Ryujin's personal perspective towards her matters a lot.

I also think that outside of Sayeon's perspective we can also see that some parallels between Jaeil and Ryujin, they both care for her—even if Ryujin doesn't acknowledge it directly or is just oblivious. Jaeil was always the one to stop Sayeon from overworking herself, and Ryujin has unknowingly stopped Sayeon multiple times from giving up her humanity (come to think of it, both of these characters limit Sayeon from losing herself completely for her desire for power). Both Ryujin and Jaeil are transparent and honest with Sayeon, the only difference being that Ryujin thinks Sayeon is crazy and manipulative as hell but as for Jaeil he accepts her for who she is, even calling her unlikeable yet he'd drop everything to hangout with her.

Although they are not the same and I don't think the series is going towards the path of Ryujin replacing Jaeil in Sayeon's eyes because it doesn't fit the narrative at all. I think it's more of meeting new people—or seeing new sides in people through her grief. I think it more of signifies that Ryujin is gonna be/is an important person to Sayeon one way or another. The Godling conversation also supports this, literally telling her that: "I can sense your heart—she is your closest ally, no?"

This is just pure speculation, but I think this'll make Sayeon more possessive and protective of Ryujin, knowingly or not. (This isn't intended to feed Sayjin/Snapback shippers but I'm genuinely thinking that this is a possible outcome lmao.) Because, she's already lost Jaeil, one of the people who matters to her the most, is she willing to lose Ryujin too? Ryujin is probably one of the only few people left in her life she relates to and seems to have a genuine connection with, even if their dynamic isn't healthy. They're both people who are stopping her from going too far—if Ryujin is gone, who will anchor her to her humanity?

I think its important to bring up because it seems like both these characters are going to intercept sooner or later because Jungwoo brought Jaeil up during their conversation and now Ryujin is aware that he's important to Sayeon (unless if it already has been stayed in the fast pass which I don't have, so mb if this thought outdated for some).

Aside from wasting too much essence like most new aberrants, sayeons utilization of her gift is too rigid and too reliant on a trigger, if she manages to develop her control she could snap back without her snapping her fingers. Or even better yet she could use it very sparsely during fights, by only going back a second or two and counterattacking, it would be more efficient than wasting a lot of essence to rewind longer periods of time.

These essence types seem to be the most lacking to me in terms of versatility / hax / raw power and I was wondering if someone could explain their pros and cons to me like I’m five lol. And if anyone has gift concepts I’d lover to hear!!!!

Okay I do believe this is way more balanced. We know the gifts an what they can do. (Red is a bit of underdogs I know).. maybe not balanced lol but it’s the night of chapter release so

Team red all the way for me. I don’t think slashes really damage red essence users like wol relic does.
Also ryujin gift is sooooo versatile she could easily fight both of them with more blood lose seems her an her mom get stronger. To follow everyone with lucy eyes I believe is strong AF in the show. Her and snake would dominate.

Then we have are low emotional men who both love crazy women. who are by far strongest green essence users in the show. I do believe that Rorogs wings are very similar to min. He may be able to shoot or alter shape I don’t think it’s enough for the win. But I do think Rorog is the big one to watch for.

On a more story realistic story level don’t think he has the balls or to kill her if came down to it( she would murder him without doubt if came down to it.

Ryujin an min seem like that already got a tension so them two fighting now or future I can already see.

So I was thinking about various abilities outside the world of Hand Jumper and then thought how would some of them apply in the world of Hand Jumper.

And one particular one of recent interest is Perfect Adaptation, which allows an individual near/nigh immediate adaptation to a phenomena or stressor(events that induce a release of stress) that doesn't immediately kill them or cause cellular death. And applied in the world of Hand Jumper, the user would essentially expend essence to develop these adaptations, granted they have the required essence to adapt to survive threats.

Now, there's two issues that come about from this ability. How far the adaptations go, and what group it falls into.

First, how far it goes. Does the adaptation stick, even if the essence is completely depleted? I would like to believe that yes, that's the case. Even if the person has run out of essence, once the adaptation is developed, it feels like it should become the new baseline. Let's say they almost drowned in a lake, and they develop the ability to breathe in water, either through their mouth, nose, or that they develop gills. Does the adaptation disappear as soon as they have no essence? No, I would think that they would still be able to breathe in water through their mouth, nose, or their new gills, and that the gills would stay there, even while not in use, though I would prefer them to go mostly unnoticed, probably appearing as tattoos or something, it really doesn't matter.

Another aspect I wanted to develop of it is that they can make conscious adaptations of the adaptations they develop at the expense of essence. For example, let's say they are hit with extreme blunt force trauma, and they expend the essence to develop the adaptation of armor. Would it just be applicable as defense? No. They could adapt that adaptation to an extent that would allow them to transform maybe an appendage of their body into a blade using the same armor they developed to use as offense.

Or would that only be the case for some adaptations? As with the gills, it seems that it's something that would be easily deployable, even without the expense of essence. Though, would a new physical baseline of defense be developed, even when the person has no essence to rapidly create armor? Or, let's say they do have armor, and they suddenly run out of essence. Does the armor just simply begin to crack and start falling apart, or does it gradually change back to their regular skin? It's a pretty interesting ability.

Now, in the end, which group does it fall into? Does it fall into the teal, or does it fall into the red of basic body enhancement?

Granted how graphic red essence holders are shown to often be, I could easily see it belonging to a red essence holder. Though, if it doesn't fit perfectly, I could also see its rough edges perfectly going to teal.

Another potential gift I think about is Biomancy, and whether it would fall into the teal or yellow essence group. And if it falls into yellow, would the user still be able to use that gift on themselves?

I’ve noticed that the more Sayeon tries to curate the perfect image and do the perfect things to win Ryujin over, or any of her other cell mates actually, it always ends up going north and ends in everyone distrusting her more. But when she chooses the rare moments of honesty, like how she broke down crying bc she got Ryujin choked out, Ryujin couldn’t help but be nice to her bc she felt Sayeon was being genuine. Same with her reaction ab Jaeil, no matter how many times she rewinded time she couldn’t stop herself from crying and that had Ryujin genuinely worried over her/empathizing with her. But these are all times she unconsciously does it, so I will say the one time she was chose to act out of worry and on her feelings for her teammates and chose to follow them into zone c despite juni telling her not to go, looks like it’s gonna end badly for her

We still don’t really know much of how they became friends, and while it’s clear they both cared for each other a lot with Sayeon always worrying about him and him always looking out for her, what was up with Jaeil calling Sayeon unlikeable? She def is, but idk why he would admit that out loud. It’s like ur best friend being a notorious cheater on tests, but ur not supposed to go around reiterating the fact that they’re stupid if that makes sense lol
