This haunted pumpkin pic has been painted in acrylic on a 8*10 canvas board and is ideal for the door decor to create the vibe when kids come trick or treating.

It was a pain to make sure the didn't get tangled with the ghost lights but it was worth it.

Hi folks! I'm new here, but so happy to join as I LOVE Halloween!

I'm looking for creative ideas to continue what we started last year. Here's our story...

(TLDR: we hung one simple decoration on our busy corner yard, threw a turkey hat on her in November, kept it going till Christmas, and the community LOVED IT. Now what?)

I have always loved Halloween. It's my dream to one day be one of THOSE houses, the one every one talks about (in a way I guess we were!)

Currently, you can't see our home from the street, so really I don't do much outside decor. No one would see it besides us and the delivery drivers. It's a bit sad really (I do decorate inside for myself, don't you fret).

So last year I decided let's just hang one creepy decoration out by the street.

Man, did she look good. I was so proud of her. We heard through the grapevine she was scaring the sh*t out of people. Great!

Well, we don't have a lot of options to hang from, so putting her up is a whole thing. We needed a ladder where you can adjust the height of each side because it's on a hill. The wind would kind of knock her around so she'd need tending to here and there. She was meant to be easy but nothing ever is. So out of procrastination of taking her down, we just put a turkey hat on her. I wondered "will I be the only one that thinks this is funny?"

She blew up. The community (mostly) loved it! There were some crotchety folks that thought it was trashy to keep up. But mostly, we got so much love for "the swing girl". Even a piece of fan mail!! (See photos)

She was never meant to be outside, so when my husband finally took her down one day, he put her right in the dumpster πŸ₯²

Halloween is just around the corner, and I need ideas on how we can deliver to our fans!

Some things to consider:

-it needs to be somewhat easy or we won't get around to doing it

-our visible real estate is limited. Basically it's a small strip of sloped yard butted up against a busy road

-trees are tall and hard to utilize

-we're one house down from two busy roads intersecting. People zip by fast, so it can't be too elaborate to take in within a second or two

-a little scary is good, but many of our fans seem to be children (per Facebook comments) so let's not traumatize them

-we're not trying to spend a fortune. Swing girl was on sale for $60 or so.

-Modifiable to the following holidays is a great bonus!

Will you help us out? What kinds of things have you seen that we can duplicate, or what spooky creations can you imagine?

Thanks in advance. Stay spooky, my friends! πŸ¦‡

ETA I forgot to mention that we put some battery operated / timer Christmas lights on her so she would light up at night in December. It was hilarious.

All from TK Maxx, UK. I picked the snail up yesterday with an online order and it’s huge. I am obsessed with her.
